  • Man, Asriel is an asshole.

  • the thing that said it was not part of the movie it was you edited northern lights in

  • @nathmull1997 I think I understand your comment... the clip with lyra riding Iorek? The same clip is in the movie, but the version I show is a clip from an earlier version of the movie. In the version I found there is the Northern Lights in the sky. I did not edit or create the clip, it really is from an earlier version of the film. Also check the 2011 version of this video... its better :)

  • you would think the studio that adapted lord of the rings would know better than to try to dumb his dark materials down, maybe if they hadn't this would hvae turned out like lord of the rings did

  • This is a great video. !!

  • To whoever made this - TOP MAN/WOMAN

  • @rhidiandavies1991 man and thanks! Suggest watching the 2011 version, a lot more in and made better :)

  • If you don't have the balls to follow the actual story then why adapt the book in the first place?

  • Is the original ending in the 3-disc edition of the film?

  • Does anyone know the music at 5:30 and where the audio came from for the dialogue around 5:40?

  • This is incredible. I so want to kick the ass of whoever cut the film's ending short.

  • PLEASEEE I WANT ALL THE SEQUELS OF THE FIRST FILM!!! I LOVE THIS TRILOGY!! IT'S A WASTE TO NOT TURN AS FILM THE SUBLE KNIFE AND THE AMBER SPYGLASS!!! PLEAAAASEEEEE!!!

  • beautifully done. Im still waiting for the sequels to this day

  • Excelent! it Would be a better final! its very sad that doesn't exist the second part! but this final is wonderfull!!! thanks!

  • What did lord Asreal do to Roger?

  • So did they actually film the ending of the book, but decided against it because they knew they weren't doing a second movie? I agree the ending in the movie sucked.

  • @Kelnosha They filmed it. Hope that people would see the first since it was "tamed" and then start off the second movie with the first book's true ending. Also I think that they shot themselves in the foot because they actually made a lousy movie that got terrible reviews and a killed their studio financially.

  • I love the music you used when the Northern Lights open up, what is it called?

  • @Takato626 the music is from the Romeo & Juliet soundtrack, called 'Kissing You'. There is now an updated version of this video with more in - just search 'Northern Lights - 'The Golden Compass' Deleted Ending (2011 Version)' :)

  • @EnergyUK Thank you XD

  • In this scene, in the book, there's a Witch helping Lord Asreil. I assume that's the floating person at 4:57.

  • @Starlight1571 you are correct ;) I need to update the commentary on this video but there is now an updated version of this video with more in - just search 'Northern Lights - 'The Golden Compass' Deleted Ending (2011 Version)' :)

  • I wish they would go back, add in all the scenes they cut that would have otherwise made the movie more faithful to the book and re-release it.

  • wait! be TRUTHFUL. are they doing a remake of the golden compass?????!! even a remake and i would be happy!! they better keep pans voice the same, thats all i can say...

  • It they'd used this ending and this music it would have catapulted the Golden Compass from a lowly 3 star to a borderline 5

  • It they'd used this ending and this music it would have catapulted the Golden Compass from a lowly 3 star to a borderline 5

  • This is an amazing piece of work—you've given me both ten amazing minutes of my favorite downer ending in the world and faith in the director. I'm pleased to hear that a new edition is in the works, which I very much look forward to. Your work and dedication is much appreciated.

  • @theliteraryomnivore There is now an updated version of this video with more in - just search 'Northern Lights - 'The Golden Compass' Deleted Ending (2011 Version)' :)

  • I think there may be only one problem with this, and it's that the subtitles went by too fast for me to both read them and look up to see what was happening. Otherwise, amazing.

  • @Draconicqueen There is now an updated version of this video with more in - just search 'Northern Lights - 'The Golden Compass' Deleted Ending (2011 Version)', and I'll be updating the video soon with a new subtitle commentary.

  • Oh, and I hated the beginning as well . . . so stupid. It should have started out with Lyra going up the stairs into the banquet hall with the High Table.

  • I wish they hadn't cut the ending!!!!!! It looks amazing from what you've put together! :) Brilliant work! Before I read the book I went to see the movie, and from all the false adertising in the trailers I was anticipating that awesome ending. Waiting, waiting in the theatre for it to come on, and it never did! I was SO upset . . . I could've cried. Lol. Thanks loads for this . . . it's pure brilliance!!! :D can't wait for more!

  • Thank you. Three professional, film school-taught editors couldn't figure out what they had, and you did it with the clips you found yourself and a video editor likely comes standard on most computers or can easily be bought at Best Buy. This would have been a great ending, and the suits at New Line butchered it entirely.

  • @CaptainAshSpearow thank you very much. Means a lot. Look out for a new version of this video in the coming days. Lots of more found footage, preproduction art, and movie stills.

  • @CaptainAshSpearow

I agree- this was the ending in the book and it leads to the sequel- if you didn't have this part in the movie then you would have no idea how the sequel would begin. The filmmaker ruined a decent film by not putting a key part into the movie- also they kinda rushed through the story too quick in the movie and tried to fit too much into too little time and it ruins the connection with the characters and the story.

  • Gotta admit that was a hell of a work! Congratulations! Just for curiosity, have you now found even more footage to make an even more improved version of the ending? Like you, I too hate the song "Lyra", but also think ot begins really well.

  • @RodmanForever good news - yes a new version is being made and is very close to release. It would be this weekend if I wasn't away. The new version includes clips that will make fans blink in astonishment (I hope), it also includes more preproduction art and images from the film. There's more but I don't want to spoil it. It's taken a lot of research but I think people will like it... :)

  • I'll be looking forward to see it mate!

  • Ah this is so amazing! D: Why the hell did the movie producers feel it was a good idea to give us the watered down version of this ending instead? Damn idiots catering to the people who freak out when anyone challenges their way of life or thinking!

I assume that Church authority's are in an uproar over this because it shows how corrupt they can become. I haven't read the books, mind you, but from what I can see the movie is not anti-religious. It simply encourages you to think for yourself.

  • ugh that was the ONE part i wanted to see in the film and they didnt do it.....what the hell....i hate when people decide "hey im going to do this book" and then firstly ruin it and secondly decide not to finish it even if it was horrible...ugh sorry for rant but seriously thank you for posting this!

  • Why oh why did they ruin this great film by cutting the entire ending? What the hell were they thinking?

  • Thank you so much for putting this together with so much care and effort.

  • i officially love you!

  • I suppose that the dialogue when out of shot is still the dialogue though? Sounds like it, and it's really good, just as if I were reading the book.

  • @CreedBalboa the dialogue is sourced from a preproduction video based on an earlier version of the film. It's not perfect but it works well enough.

As for the director - really I don't blame him. He filmed this and many other scenes that could have saved this film. The studio (New Line) decided to kill it by editing the film poorly to appease people who didn't understand the goal of the film. In the end New Line ended up losing out and going backrupt for their choice.

  • This ending may have actually redeemed the movie, maybe that's why they didn't include it. . . . there won't be a sequel for this one, probably have to wait forever for there to be a remake. Also, the director should be blackballed for this, and yes, I'm pretty pissed.

  • Pity they didn't put this ending in the film instead, would be much more of a heart-throbbing climax! I will definitely read the books soon.

  • IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE CITTÀGAZZE!!! 8:33

  • If Asriel needed a kid with a daemon, why not just use Lyra?

  • @reevesdamn Because he doesn't want to destroy his own daughter by ripping her daemon from her. He'd rather destroy some other child.

  • This ending would have been so much better.

    Oh well.

  • Great video. I really appreciate the work you've done here! I'm just about to start reading The Subtle Knife.

  • @mattclose555 So jealous of you. I wish I could read the books for the first time again. Be sure to track down a copy of Lyra and the Birds when you finish The Amber Spyglass. :)

  • This film is the worst film I' ve ever seen.

However, it would be one of the BEST, if the original ending hadn't been removed.

I watched the film firstly, and I liked it. But, I also read the book, then I said: "Oh my God, they cut many things... It's the worst film I have ever seen...". Also, they cut the "Cocktail Party" that shows Lord Boreal. Lord Boreal is the main antagonist in the Subtle Knife!!!! I agree with you, the theatrical ver. has missed some huge points to continue to the sequel.

  • This ending would have been marvelous. The fact that they used footage from the original ending earlier in the film and even in the *trailer*means that they cut the original ending at the last possible second. That's such a shame, because it means that the actual director, actors, designers, and everyone else on the production did the best job they could... and now they have nothing to show for it because the studio made them vivisect it. :( they have my sympathy.

  • That's the closest we'll ever come to seeing the whole thing as it was meant to be. Thanks for all the work!

  • They should have not tried to make it into a tries-to-be-fantasy steampunk and instead have gone right for the unique, alternative steampunk/science-fiction edge the books had, which also were more cruel. They should have made a film that stars a child, not a film for children. The death of Roger and the fate of the kids who had been ripped apart from their daemons was horrible in many emotional ways, and this film seemed for me like they were toning it down in a way that was almost offensive.

  • @Johnny123456789x I agree that this was toned down tremendously. It was not originally like this at all in fact. You can tell my by the trailers and Energy's footage that there was filmed material not put in the final cut. Also don't forget that Chris Weitz first draft is online now so you should read it. There is a lot more material that really makes you wonder what could of been

  • I think if they put this ending into the movie, it would have done a lot better.

  • This is a WHOLE lot better than the final ending! i actually really cried to this, even though it's not with the complete clips. I have never read any of the books, but i love the film. although, this is the TRUE ending to the film. they BETTER make an extended cut of this film in order for them to work on the sequel. they are doing that with I Am Legend based on it's ORIGINAL ending where robert lives.

  • Beautiful. The stupidity of Hollywood and their ability to ruin a movie never ceases to amaze. So, has anyone "restored" the whole movie yet, such as putting Lyra's visits to Bolvangar and Svalbard in the proper order and appending this to the end?

  • This movie would be better if they would come out with a sequel, but I've really enjoyed watching it....I'll probably read it when I get done with all the books I have checked out.

  • The movie would´ve been a good one if they only added ten minutes to it!

  • Thanks for sharing this.

As a fan of the book, I was disapointed in the film's ending, but this was incredibly interesting - and sort of redeeming, since I got to know that they actually were planning for the "real" ending - to see.

  • i guess they needed a happy ending 4 the film. classic structuring, end on a high note and start the new film with turmoil. 1st film, stasis, lyra happy with roger and other friends, stasis broken by forward (losing roger), ending find roger stasis restored and . new film, stasis lyra and roger happy, stasis broken by forward (rogers death) stasis then restored at end upon finding roger. standard Sophoclean event, event, event, climax, ending structuring.

  • ooooh so this was the real ending and the company cut it off before release of the movie.................WHY!?!??!!?!??!

  • Thank you for uploading this... i felt that the movie ended without a "closure" somehow... but this version of the ending would have better suited for the movie... thank u for the upload..

  • @FFXTidus91 I KNOW RIGHT? I saw them going off in the end and its like that was NOT THE END AT ALL. Seriously, where was that EMOTION!? Where was the PASSION?!!? that made the ENDING THE ENDING?!?!

  • damn i can see how they really mutilated that ending, nice movie/book altogether ;)

  • Thank you so much for this video the ending of the film was very dissapointing and im just thinking isnt it stelmaria asriels demon that get selcillia back on the machine

  • I can't even begin to describe how dissappointed I was with the film being a HUUUUUUUUUGE fan of the books. They should scrap this one, remake it and then concentrate on the other two.

  • The film was completely ruined by it being a whole lot more anvilicious than the book, and Meddling from the studio trying to tame and re-order the plot.

  • Thank you so much for this! :D I so would have loved it if they used the real ending. but I don't really get the part from 4:46 till 5:05 what happened there? Pantalaimon took Salcilia away from that thing, but in the end, she did got on there? the only ones who can change are Salcilia and Pantalaimon, so how did Salcilia got back on that thing Lord Asriel had? :S

  • This would have been awesome... I actually kind of loved the movie, just being able to visualize everything was amazing, but this would have made an absolutely stunning ending...

  • Oh this makes me want to see the 2nd movie sooo bad.

  • Great job! Finally the REAL ending of the movie!

  • Whats the song at the begining?

  • roger's daemon was grabbed by an angel in the form of a bird! i just realized that after watching the storyboard carefully. it also brings material from the third book into this. but it's still not what happened in the first book though. but i finally get the confusing storyboard.

  • It truly pissed me off when they cut off the last three chapters to the movie...I wish they'd release it to all the fans because I believe they filmed the end any way.

  • Holy Crap, that was the best ending ever, if they had shown THAT other than the "WTF" ending to the other one, I was so into this one, and wish it was there instead. Wow. The director really fucked up. This ending was amazing.

  • I read the entire series then watched the movie and got soo mad when they cut out the ending!! I was like "Well great, now they can't make the rest of the series. Brilliant mind they are." and they don't even have the deleted scenes on the disk!! Gosh the movie was dumb!

  • This is just patched together fan storyboarding. Does not seem to be anything official.

  • I BELIEVE THIS TO BE THE MOST IMPORTANT PART TO THE STORY! SAD THAT IT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RELEASED FILM.

i HAVE A QUESTION: WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO SHOW IT AND WHY IT THAT YOU WENT FROM SKETCHES AND THE FILM ITSELF? WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST SHOW THE FILM INSTEAD OF USING BOTH, THE FILM AND THE SKETCHES THAT IS?

  • I also hope there will be a directors cut... the movie was a little dissapointing, I was like "WHAT?!" In the cinema when the movie ended and was allways like "That was not supose to happen! The other way around!" And a lot of that.. But thank you SO much for uploding this! :D

  • the ending song is nice

  • It would be much better with this ending!!!!! I need to cry!!!!

I was so confused, most after I played the video game, and watch the movie again.

  • in the film its really weird coz when Lyra gets captured by the Samoyeds (i think thats how you spell it) she gets taken to the ive bear palice but in the book she gets taken to Bolvanger and the part with the ice bridge is in a random place in the film.

  • the part where roger gets captured by lord asriel is wrong because at 3.46 lyra go and gets roger but he has been there already when at the beginnig he was captured by the gobblers so he can't be puted in the same place again

  • the bit when shes crossing the bridge..that does appear in the fiilm..

  • @Literallii it does but it appears in the wrong place - when they reordered the events of the film, they moved it to when lyra goes to bolvangar, but in reality it was supposed to go here. Check my other Golden Compass videos to show how the scenes originally played out...

  • @EnergyUK

oh right,i ddnt know. hey,are they gonna make the subtle knife or what? we've been waiting for ever!!

  • It's perfect from 4:18

  • so lord asriel is bad??

  • I will never forgive New Line for their gutless behavior in producing this film. When you ruin an adaptation like this, you don't just mess up that picture, but also the chances that we will see another attempt this generation. Some of the most meaningful and brave fantasy ever committed to paper is going to have to wait for Hollywood to grow a pair... which could be some considerable time. Meanwhile enjoy the endless streams of family-friendly CGI offal we're going to be stuck with.

  • why they don't use the scens?? i know that the MOVIE is for kids, buts the others 2 books they are no for kids

  • @gladiussecus

umm..yes they are!! im a kiid, and i've read all of them and really enjoyed them!

  • There's a group on Facebook about this, it's called "We want a Director's cut DVD of The Golden Compass - with the real ending!"

  • that ending is closer to the book than anything else in the movie.

  • Whats the song at the end?

  • @BjornSvenson check the extra information for all the song names etc, but I think you mean Enigma - Gravity of Love

  • Thank you! I really enjoyed watching it as it should had been :)

  • One of the best stories ever conceived and hollywood screwed it up. I mean, if they included that dramatic final scene, i think that would've changed everything. The special effects were magnificent and the acting really depicted the emotions of the moment. I want to see someone make this movie for what it is - not a kids fairytale - rather how this story deals with complex ideas like using science to explain the supernatural and God and destiny blah blah blah. that'd be sweet.

  • @justitan

i agree...but these books are for kids and adults. The kids might not be able to understand the bits about God,and Dust and blah blah blah, but, basically its still a story about a little girl who wants to fight the bad guys and eventually falls in love with a guy she meets on the way. Also, there are lots of kids who have actually understood the complex meanings, like me! I'm 13 and I read it when I was 12,and I understood the complexity behind the storyline. It's a brilliant story.

  • seriously, having this scene in the movie (that is, edited to full coherency, with all the epicness) would've easily made the movie go up a few points in my book.

  • you did a GREAT job on this video! i've never read the book, only seen the film. i didn't know there was so much more to the story... i didn't know that Lord Asriel and Mrs Coulter were actually partners in crime - i really need to read the book.

  • u know what. so many people mess up the movie endings. Like in the Princess Bride.... they give a happily ever after ending. And in the golden compass we get another sh*tty ending that makes it next to impossible for there to be a sequel, unless we used the cut ending in the beginning of the second one.

So thank u for ruining everything hollywood!

  • @FireMahoghany To be fair, the Princess Bride screenplay was written by the author of the book.

This movie though - what the heck, New Line? This was a beautiful ending and they cut it because they thought it was too sad. Boo, so what? The acting was beautiful and it was a lovely tear jerker! Stupid executive meddling. >:(

  • @FireMahoghany I think what is also important to remember was that there was a real ending to this movie. It was filmed and the order of events were correct. Under Tremendous Marketing pressure New Line decided to really cut the film in late statges. SO the reason why I say this is that I would not want this series to continue after this. Wait a decade or so, Reboot it from scratch and really make it worthy. Not just safe. What do you think?

  • i'd really like to use this video for a comparison of book and film. can i download it somehow..? please answer! :)

  • @xxTheEmxx there are many applications and websites that allow you to download off youtube. If it's for a university course please send me a direct message and we can discuss...

  • @EnergyUK thanks dont know why it didnt work with the two download programs i used... asked a friend to download it for me and it worked but thx anyway :)

  • great vid btw

  • i love the book

but this is the worst film i could imagine! Why did they cut this part? its really a waste! the end is now very sudden, very strange. and there won't be a sequel? what where the producers thinking?!

    i still can't believe it.

  • good work, if ever the ending of a film was screwed up this was it. Its a shame that we will have to wait yeras until someone will have the guts to re-make it, and this time the complete trilogy

  • WOW that would have made the movie absolutely AMAZING!

it would have gotten us dumb americans thinking :P

    and wanting more!

that's my idea of a perfect ending

    great job :D!

  • Wait, I saw the ice-crossing scene in the version with the Swedish dub! (My sister hates reading subtitles, so I had to watch it in Swedish :()

  • There's a game? With deleted scenes? o.O

  • Thanks for sharing! :D This was great... but it pissed me off :( The one thing wrong with the film was the end! It was SOO retarded! And you're right with the trailer thing... how could they do that?! It's really insulting to long term fans of the story and to people who watched this film without knowing the original story at all - it's deprived them of living a truly great tale and deprived the original fans of a proper visual tribute.

  • Can I beg you to send me the pictures of Lyra at the end? The one of her walking into Our world through the window... Pleaseeee

  • @TheKittyMistress this video is not purely from the game, it's a mixture of clips - so if you played the game you'd only get certain scenes from this footage...

  • Hey everyone, come and see my video of "The Golden Compass" that includes a very beautiful song: watch?v=y44rYV5HRiM

  • @FFXTidus91 they did that with the hopes of it doing well in theaters, so they could stuff the last three chapters or book 1 into the first part of the second movie to give it a kick ass opening but i agree this book is soo good and the movie did not do it justice

  • Hopefully there will be a director's cut, or at least some of the original footage will be used to segue The Subtle Knife.

  • @shebnemxx check the official soundtrack CD :)

  • i had read all the books by the time i was 7. so i was pretty hacked off when the film came out and they had completely screwed it up. this ending makes me feel a bit better. if you could post the whole edited film on you tube.... i would LOVE to veiw it. as a true fan i appreciate what you are doing to pick the film out of the gutter!!!! please make it good.

  • I finished the 1st book a few days ago. I love it! the scene where lord asriel kills roger is so sad..and seeing it here makes it feel even sadder. that scene in the book shows so much (from how messed up her parents are to whole church stuff)

they should have included it somewhat of that.

  • @FFXTidus91

I agree! I just finished reading the book. they cut soooo much that I wonder how they would have created the second part. recycle the old scenes and save money? bc of stupid stuff like this we are left without part two of the film. I though I read somewhere that the author was involved.

  • THEY MUST REMAKE IT

    Aaaaaaand sequel.

  • @unbrokenjack

I wish .. Unfortunately it wasn't popular enough in the states that the sequels will not be made, even though it was popular in Europe.

Apparently, if Americans don't like it, then it isn't worth it.

Shame really. It's one of my favorite series and they aren't going to finish it.

I would've preferred this ending. As if Hollywood never made movies with terrible endings *cough* any stephen king movie, shutter island *cough cough*

  • @blckmagehadokn1 Exactly!

  • Nicely well done. By the way, everybody check out my video using this song in The Golden Compass: watch?v=y44rYV5HRiM

  • Hollywood messed up on this ending. The movie, in fact. The beginning and most of the middle was done well, but the ending...the ending disappointed me...AND I NEVER READ THE BOOK EVEN. This ending would of been epic. People would of liked it.

  • Sorry i never said also... thanks for putting this on because i often wondered how they WOULD have ended this lol... I think that maybe by ending the film this way would have made people have less criticism against the film, then they could have made The Subtle Knife. It's a shame they're not making a second film :(

But still thanks for putting this vid on :)

  • I think they should have put the ending of this back in and put the Bolvangar and Ice Bears scene in the right order, then maybe that would have made the film better. And maybe a bit more on the background information too, like more about the Witches, that would have made things a hell of a lot more understandable. I remember watching the film before i read the book and it was so hard to follow, but now i've read the book i understood the film a bit more, which made me like the film more.

  • i saw the movie and then read the book. i could not believe after reading this how they could not show this part in the movie. it was sooo awesome in the book and looked pretty awesome on this video

oh well, i am reading the second book now cuz it loooks like they will never again make this movie or the sequels

  • i just read the book, but saw the movie a little before i read the books. the movie was so hard to follow, but the books were a lot easier to understand. they should of had this as their ending becasue it actually was such a big part of the book and i would of been pissed if i read the book first and then saw that the movie never even showed this

thank you for posting this video

  • This is great! A hell of a lot better than the released version0-I hate when the movies dont go with the story of the books... But the whole movie hopped around a lot and didn't give enough time to just one scene- this ending was the best part!

  • PP's words were "they haven't done anything to the book it's right there on the shelf." I'm extremly disapointed with the movies but PP is right movies are seperate from books and even the movies taken from books should be treated like regular movies.

  • I'm sure people have already said this, but I think that was a witch's daemon that put Roger's daemon in Lord Asriel's machine.

  • thanks :D

  • Thanks for this. I remember being so disappointed when I watched the movie. I can't think of any book hollywood destroyed as badly as they did this one when they adapted it to the screen.

Does anyone know what the author thought of it?

  • Far as I know, PP just sees movies as a completely different medium. "The book will always be sitting there on the shelf." (Okay possibly not exact words, but very close.)

  • What I find a bit funny (and Pullman does too) is how he said he never wanted anything to do with a movie of his books, yet he ends up writing a whole new scene for it. xD

(The epic mighty monkey bitchslap scene which makes so much sense yet doesn't)

  • are the alternate voices that were used for the illustrations from the audio drama?

  • Brilliant video, I love to books and wish they had ended the film this way. Thanks for spending the time to make this, so fans can see how it should have ended. What is the exact song at 4:20, I know it says a 'variation' on children of dune, but can anyone send me a download link, thanks.

  • Im saw something about the subtle knife coming out and I thought "How dare they! After they destroyed The Golden Compass like that!" No, it wasn't only the ending they left out, they barely talked about the witches at all. Those where central parts!

  • thanks for this the background info really helped

  • Thank you for this <3

  • man, i wish it ended like this. thanks so much for this. i loved the way this ended. if only the director just added this in, it would be a lot better.

  • Having done research, I found out that the studio took over in the final stages of the editing process, so what was already considered a 'safe' film for families was made even worse. Feel sorry for the director...

  • we should petition for a director's cut released on blu ray! :)

  • Can you please tell me where I can find the music between 5:30 and 8:40?

  • Extremely good work dude, that you actually managed and took yourself the time to compose this ending just for us fans and your own fun is really impressive. To sad this is as close as we fans will ever get to se the end of the golden compass (from new line cinema that is!) However at this point there is no idea to make videos or to complain about the movie since it been like 2 years and they wont make a sequel, which is prob as good.

    Peace out and good work!

  • I'm so depressed about how they ruined the ending and the order of events after the first third "oxford". This video is great, they should have ended the film this way, I am still puzzled as to why they didn't. It's a shame that the second and third films are unlikely to be made... though I really hope they do...

  • They'd have started by now if they were going to.

  • I loved the movie (it is in fact my current favorite). If the makers knew that there would not be the sequels they made the right choice in reorganizing the flow of events and changing the ending to a more suitable 'hollywood' ending. I would have loved nothing more than to see the whole saga played out onscreen but one benefit of the hollywood version is that it made me buy the book trilogy because I wanted to know what happened, which I've read through 3 times. Thanks for putting this up.

  • @EnergyUK Thanks for putting this up. I agree, it was definitely false advertising to put clips from the finale in the trailer. I was extremely upset and disappointed to find the original ending had been cut, and worse it wasn't included on the DVD. Where did you get the audio from, for this ending?

  • @bakablues the audio has been gathered from all over the place. Obviously the clips at the beginning had audio already, I just added the background music and removed commentary from the clips.

The audio over the storyboard style scenes are from a leaked preproduction video that new line made before the film to encourage people to get involved with the project.

I added music at certain points, except the romeo & juliet music that was already in the preproduction video. Hope that helps!

  • @EnergyUK Thanks for the explanation.

  • UGGGGGGG why couldnt this have been in the MOVIE...they totally ruined the movie by not putting this in

  • does anyone know where I can download the trailer for this movie? so that it will play on windows media player?

  • @lovetolovefairytales the trailer is still availble in quite a few places. Try yahoo movies, they have them in mov format which newer version of windows media player can handle.

  • Oh, I'd love to see the original end!!!!!!!!!

  • This film totally lacks courage. Not surprising since this highly watered down version got criticized anyways, but still, now I have to wait for someone else to remake it.

  • does anyone know when and if the subtle knife shall be out??

  • @Rockeyrockgirl it's not coming... well it's very unlikely to come out...
