  • wow youve got to be kidding me man... this is discusting why is this even considered musicc when its this terrible percy im sorry but this isnt good whatso ever maybe we can get together sometime an ill teach you a few things...

  • @MrLangersmith10 Wow. Someone had a bad music teacher and an even worse English teacher.

  • My most memorable medley of music from freshman year... :)

  • Who the hell writes a part for euphonium AND baritone horn?!

  • @orangebhuddy29 Percy Grainger. Same man who writes in a measure of rests at the very beginning of all parts of a song, and writes in "Silence" on it. Just a random measure with nothing on it. Troll.

  • @1SquidBoy you have no idea. I'm the only euphonium player and I have to play both parts, flipping pages back and forth isn't fun :(

  • @1SquidBoy

Not gonna lie, bro: totally cracked up at the way you described Grainger. He wrote masterpieces on the tears and frustration of conductors and musicians alike.

  • 2 people cant play this :(

  • Hey (insert random band director here) what Grainger do we have in the library?

  • Trombones.! No part till da second movement.!! Lol #tfsouth

  • @OxenOrb Read the video descriptions, dude.

  • In my years of high school (i'm a senior in the symphonic band, have been for 3 years, 1st trombone, we always play grade 6 masterworks) hardest piece of music I've ever read in my opinion. Cept movement 1 cause trombones don't play ;)

  • Look up my marching band Pride of Mill Creek playing themes from Grainger

  • and yeay for french horns, too!

  • @OxenOrb that's because it's a wind symphony recording....

  • Yah! go trombones! ; there was no trombone part so we just sat there doing nothing until the second movement lol

  • yea , great music, imiss playing music like this

  • Band directors' nightmare! L.P. + prep for contest= rotator cuff surgery!

  • @PLANEMANGROY he also enjoyed being tied to his piano

  • BEST DAMN SONG EVAR!!!!

  • @PLANEMANGROY so says wikipedia

  • Two people are either deaf, or have no soul

  • Who wouldn't like this song ITS AWESOME!!!!

  • Why in the f*cking hell would 2 people not like this

  • @MahrunesDagon6 because they can't count in 2.5/4 time :)

  • @sspelak: isn't that only in the 5th movement? it's been awhile. that and i played contrabass clarinet filling bass sax on this, so i was none too involved on this one.

  • @Trey5511 Yeah it is... Lol I had a brain fart. But hey, it still applies... kinda.

  • @sspelak I hope that's a joke. That'd be 5/8 with the beat on 4 hence switching accent from downbeat to upbeat.

  • @intervalkid Nope. One of the movements is ligitly in 2.5/4, and it goes into even stranger times. It's not a joke, I wish it was.

  • Comment removed

  • @intervalkid That may be, but if you look in movement 5, measure 3, there is a 2 1/2, over a four, thus 2.5/4. This is also a fact

  • @starwarsjazz Are you saying they transcribed it like that? Well that's still 5 8th notes with a four beat switching accents on the up. They must have been fairly new to odd times.

  • Ah, Percy Grainger...The man who liked to tie women to trees and whip them with ribbons.

  • What a great piece for the reeds, especially English horn!

  • Grainger wrote the Clarinet version of movement 3 because the original band that played it didn't have double reed players up to the job. Vive le Bassoon!

  • Does anyone have the Home Service / John Tams version of Lincolnshire Posy - including the vocal arrangement of Horkstow Grange ..??

  • This band has amazing instrumentation. My school's wind ensemble is playing all of the movements except the 3rd one.

  • Wonderful performance.

  • booyah bassoon!!!

  • I love this song! And my concert band is playing it for the spring concert!

    And I'm a percussionist! ;~;

  • man i wish i played WW sometimes but Tuba is still awesome.

  • I'm in 6th grade and I play a clarenet. I want to play a low woodwinds instrument though...I love orchestral music!

  • @Bbmanz0z play the bassoon. i used to play clarinet when i was in sixth grade, now i've been playing bassoon in the top band in high school all four years. :D

  • I'm a sophomore in high school and we're playing this in our Wind Ensemble. FUN TIMES :D

  • @Bassooner0rLater I just want to say that I love your name. Bassooner0rLater...that's great, haha. :)

  • @Bassooner0rLater hey! me too!

  • @Bassooner0rLater SAME HERE!!!! but the only not fun part about all of licolnshire is that teh trombones have "TACET" and no music written for the first movement =p

  • @Bassooner0rLater Same here! Oboe part :) we're playing all the movements!

  • @Bassooner0rLater HEY ME TOO!!!

  • @jessjess2000 I got love for all bassoon players (I was a bass clarinet). Low winds ROCK!

  • @brainykid800 , I was the principal bass clarinet player, and I sat next to the bassoons. We had a grand old time playing this one!! Low Woodwinds forever!! <3 my fellow low winds!

  • I absolutely adore playing the stopped horn solo in this. And the fanfare! Gorgeous performance.

  • The first tune of this suite is the coolest.

  • YEAH BASSOON!

  • @jessjess2000 you said it!!!!!!!!

  • @jessjess2000 Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeah! I'm first bassoon at my school. :3

  • @jessjess2000 OMG I PLAY BASSOON AND I'VE NEVER SEEN A "YEAH BASSOON" COMMENT THAT I DIDN'T LEAVE.

    Sorry, I'm a little excited.

  • I'm SO glad I subscribed to you the week I need to learn this.
