one of the reasons boxing is so much more dangerous is due to the fact that they have an 8 second count. When a fighter gets knocked out in MMA, the fight ends. In boxing, a fighter could get knocked out 3 times before the fight ends, assuming that he is able to get back up after being concussed and stand up for at least 8 seconds. In over 70 years of MMA, there has been only 1 death. Boxing today continues to have around 20 single every year.

The injuries in MMA are mainly limited to a lot of cuts and lacerations. they don't take long to heal. Boxers may not bleed as much (due to the heavy gloves) but they suffer terrible head trauma. In an average fight, a pro boxer will take 1000 -1500 jack hammer blows to the head. It's no wonder half of them become brain damaged.

it does take skills to be a boxer, but it also takes skills to be a wrestler, or a judo player, or a jiu-jitsu practitioner, or a muay thai fighter, or a kickboxer, or any other types of martial arts. i do believe that Mayweather is a good boxer, but to be a good MMA fighter you must have skill in ALL types of combat sports.

i know a few top amateur mma fighters that im good friends with. i help them out sometimes with anything associated with boxing. I always spar for 6 rounds non stop at a time,
Non of them can last even 2 rounds.I run 5 miles a day & i think that sucks since pro boxers can run 9-10 miles! & these guys cant even make it to one mile!
Endurance , strength & skill will work in a real fight not size & muscle-brawl.In the real world babe , duration of fighting can be endless.

He wouldn't do well without years of training ground just like a fighter can't walk into boxing, both sports take years to master. Ray Mercer put it best, "You have to be in hella shape to do MMA, & the training required makes boxing look easy." Boxing is the sport of punching, and MMA is the sport of fighting.

one of the reasons boxing is so much more dangerous is due to the fact that they have an 8 second count. When a fighter gets knocked out in MMA, the fight ends. In boxing, a fighter could get knocked out 3 times before the fight ends, assuming that he is able to get back up after being concussed and stand up for at least 8 seconds. In over 70 years of MMA, there has been only 1 death. Boxing today continues to have around 20 single every year.

MMA is so much of a harder sport it isn't even funny. Again he goes back to quoting money, which really doesnt matter. MMA makes boxing look like hello kitty island. @quizzachu you've got to be joking if you think MMA is a harder sport than boxing. Even most MMA fighters admit that boxing is the more dangerous sport. The injuries in MMA are mainly limited to a lot of cuts and lacerations. they don't take long to heal. Boxers may not bleed as much (due to the heavy gloves) but they suffer terrible head trauma. In an average fight, a pro boxer will take 1000 -1500 jack hammer blows to the head. It's no wonder half of them become brain damaged.
