anime/manga is the media (art entertainment) I like most because it is, in most, a lot more "deeper" whiles hollywood and brazilian movies (the ones I know) series and novels are "superficial" seams to me that they are done only for entertainment and to earn money as anime are something more, i know some movies are deeper and great as well but comon, this is splendid and anime world is beyond imagination hehe... thx Satoshi Kon and also many others who make this magic come true...
whoooooow man reallllly a great video this what you made is art timing cut , fiting the song and anime .... a best aniem video seen sinc long long time thanx
thank you for creating such a heartfelt amv, so fitting, and so measured to the spirit of the great kon satoshi; it expressed so precisely what i felt when i heard about the death of kon satoshi. my dear kon satoshi, thank you for all these wonderful moments that you have created. passion does show, i want to be as passionate as you were. you do not know how much you've affected the lives of others. arigato gozaimashita sensei. rip.
@bibip12345 I used 5 different Anime: Millennium Actress, Paprika, Perfect Blue, Tokyo Godfathers, and Memories (which is comprised of 3 short films, the one I used is titled Magnetic Rose, its the only one written by Satoshi Kon).
I watched this video at Otakon and sobbed like a baby. I am an animation student and Satoshi Kon is one of my greatest inspirations. I keep an article about him in my binder to remind me of the goals I hope to achieve in animation. When I see this video, my heart sinks in mourning for this fantastic animator, but it also gives me so much hope. I think you deserved to win and voted for best in category and in show, but I'm happy to hear you got 2nd place. I will cherish this AMV for a long time.
I'm not familiar with Satoshi Kon, but this has definitely inspired me to check out his work.
I saw this at Otakon, and it was my vote for best in its category and best overall. I was apprehensive about the song choice at first, but by the end of the AMV I was moved to tears (then and now). Amazing!
It's strange. When I remember Kon's movies, it's the surreal and psychological horror stuff that sticks out, but this video made me remember all the more cheerful and happy moments from his work (especially Millennium Actress and Tokyo Godfathers; Perfect Blue.... umm, not so much 0_0 ).
Would not have been my first song choice, but I think you made it work.
You've done absolutely brilliant work intercutting the movie clips, matching the clips with the song lyrics, and, really, everything! An excellent tribute to a great anime creator.
I'm only just beginning to discover Satoshi Kon's work, and your video makes me want to watch the movies all the more!
I am more than ashamed to say that I am really only familiar with Paranoia Agent.
However, watching this video, I was moved to tears. You did a wonderful job, and this is a video that was necessary. I am glad that you had such a drive to finish it. Once again, you did a wonderful job.
I'm not even too much of a fan of Satoshi Kon. He has a very distinguishable style, though, so I know his work when I see it, yet I never cared too much.
This video, though. I saw it during the AMV contest (just yesterday), and as soon as I realized exactly what this video was saying, I nearly broke down entirely. The meaning is so heartfelt, even someone like myself who wasn't interested was moved to tears.
he will always be alive.

A magnificent work of Satoshi. Analysing it, we can see so clearly the decay of animation today.

Perfect Blue is considered his most critically acclaimed work,
but Millenium Actress is probably his greatest achievement.
He really nailed the bullseye depicting life as our great motion picture, and we are endlessly chasing after our dreams.
Ironic though, I thought only guys hold onto memories of past lovers...rofl

@MrEdge41492 That was...a horrific assault on the English language. I'm pretty sure you just committed some sort of war crime there. :/
