  • monitors are for looking content on screen! not for watching yourself while you use the computer! thats what mirrors are for!

  • is that hp ips ?

  • hp ftw!

  • I have both the HP and Samsung. The HP's color is rich, deep, and more lively than the flat washed out boring look of the Samsung. The HP does have a lot of glare when there's light reflecting, which strains the hell out of my eyes, so I prefer the Samsung for long hours, and the HP for internet TV, or watching movies. I can live with the Samsung with HDTV and all. I can't watch the HP long due to too much strains which develop into pain in my eyes within weeks...seriously...8hrs daily.

  • I have the HP w2448hc and it's awesome...it has web cam, microphone and light sensor of course and perfecto definition ☺...from Mexico

  • Do you research folks. I have the Samsung 260HD. My brother has the HP along with a 27HP. The Samsung once dialed in is noticable better than the HP as a computer monitor. Images and text is sharper. Movies look the same on both, but the gloss is suuuuch a pain the ass! You end up turning on lights or closing blinds to avoid glare.

Glossy screens absolutely suck. They are a marketing gimmick and it does initial look cool thill you pop in you favorite HD movie.

  • the samsung is the best

  • The samsung is 1920x1200 stop saying crap you pulled out of ur ass

  • Street Fighter

  • so the HP is better ???

  • Nope.

  • The glare in that HP is awful. You can see the streaks of light from the room lighting, that would be so annoying.

  • @Timothy17Fan I have this HP monitor, and it's the best!!

  • i have never owned a glossy monitor, would it hurt your eyes after a while with all the glare

  • I own that exact hp monitor and i wish i was more educated. At the time i bought it i was very ignorant, all i cared about was size... having a huge monitor. It is only now that i am beginning to see much better other monitors are esp lg and samsung. Like i dont even use half the features on my hp. !!!ADVICE!!!-If you want a huge monitor dont just lookfor size. down the road you will regret it, picture quality is muchmore important.... trust me iknow form first hand experience. quality counts!!

  • I have experience with both of these LCD's, and in real life the Samsung totally outclasses that HP.

  • what store is this

  • and also the samsung has tv tuner.....meaning you can use it as a tv and as a computer monitor both....the hp is just a monitor dats it.....the samsung is way better the only thing is that it doesn't look as glossy as the hp but even that works against the hp becuz then u see alllights and shit on the screen and can be kind of irritating after a while.....so the samsung all da way.....its $100 cheaper, and u can use it as a tv also not just a monitor.....samsung wins

  • dat is tru...the samsung one isnt as glossy.....u when u look into the samsung one u dont see the lights on the screen....i kno i like that when im playing halo 3 i dont want lights in my way or anything when im sniping lol.....i have the samsung and its amazing.....the hp only looks better because its types glossy dats it.....i prefer the smasung better becuz of that

  • i have the 22" of the Hp and its crazy good... cant go wrong with it

  • im trying to decide between this one and the samsung p2570hdtv

  • i got the p2570 and love it im gettin ready to buy the p2570hd if you allready got it send me a message and let me know if you like it

  • Ummm, ok... so is that supposed to be a ral demo? That's like saying you should go by Wal-Mart display for TVs, as if the signal and settings are all the same. Also, I use my computer too much to deal with a glossy screen, leading cause of eye strain complications. You can get a non glossy screen to look just as vivid as a glossy one or close enough. Looks like the Samsung is $100 cheaper and has a built in TV tuner too. But the HP one is good too.

  • Not everyone lives in a house with metal halide and florescent lighting overhead 24/7. I can understand the glare for an office setting, but honestly the glossy screen provides better color saturation and the image is more vivid in comparison to the matted screen which looks rather dull and hazy. Also that HP is 1920x1200 while the Samsung is 1920x1080. Also that Samsung has a high input lag, meaning it's great for movie watching but not so for gaming.

  • Wrong, the Samsung is 1920x1200. Also, matte all the way.

  • You're right, but it still suffers from high input lag. It's designed primarily from movie watching.

  • Actually in practice its only a couple frames. People make a big deal about it but the ONLY time you'd even notice it is if you are a high level gamer playing something like SF. I've actually tested the input lag on the T260HD with a stop watch program and CRT monitor, the lag, converted into frames, is 1-3.

  • the hp is more clearer then the samsung

  • ok, i bought t260hd. I'm happy :)

  • Samsung looks better, anti-glossy. Who wants to see the lights when you are watching tv?

  • hp looks much better than samsung!

  • the hp looks better cause of the glossy screen

  • Hell yea Im getting a hp 2709m next week ccant wait! I used to have the samusng t260 , didnt like it the hp is much better looks better that is!

  • I just ordered the 24" version of that HP monitor, I hope the clarity is just as good.

  • Interesting...

  • I'm interrested in bying this monitor. I currently own a w2207h, which has a very sharp and crisp image, but I'm affraid that with such a large monitor, I'M going to lose a lot of sharpness. What can I expect from the w2558hc compared to my 22" hp in term of image sharpness ?? Thanks :-)

  • can u play 3d gaming on this monitor sorry if my question sounds dumb as 3d gaming is a new technology can someone please tell me what equipment do i need to play 3d gaming is it all to do with the monitor or graphics card please someone help?

  • Don't be such a fcuking racist.

  • Racist??? I made a comment about his religion, not his race. Your a real dumbass.

  • you're comparing a tn panel for an E-IPS which has much higher quality, and wider viewing angles

  • whats the resolution of that, is it 1920x1200 or 1920x1080?

how is that different to the the very cheap $325 HP 2509 on hp website? Please answer, please... thanks.. :)

  • hp better and better view

  • they are comparing the samsung tv monitor with a monitor only lol try to compare a samsung monitor vs hp monitor.

we all know tv monitor aren't so great

  • I'm buying that HP asap!

  • HP all the way

  • costs 200 dollars more...

  • Whoa the HP is bigger but how many hdmi ports does it have? :)

  • 2 hdmi

  • Comment removed

  • hp is bigger

  • wow, hp is so much better! Are there any other monitors just as good as this HP (glossy)? I need a monitor like this

  • HP better...

  • Der Glossy macht unnatürlich starke Farben.

Und das Problem an Märkten ist, das die Monitore meistens nicht Kalibirert sind.

  • I personally prefer the Glossy HP. My room has very little light so glossy screens look amazing in here. Your choice should depend on where your planning on using your monitor, and what your using it for.

  • I used to have a glossy/shiny LCD and it's annoying as fuck.

every bit of light , sun , gets reflected in your face.

I have that samsung now and it just...doesn't reflect like those shiny thingies

  • Samsung beats HP

  • Also is it just me or does the hp monitor look bigger?

  • It does :S But the samsung is actually 25.5 Inches while the HP screen is 26 exact ^^ Probably that + the design.

  • i see the same thing man...LOL.

  • But can the HP do 1080p and does it have the ability to play consoles and tv

  • also does the samsung

  • For my eyes the HP is much better, but there are many people out there who can't use a glossy.

    But one realy important question!

There are so many reviews etc. on Youtube about the 25,5" Monitor, but not one video about the w2448hc.

But as I was able to see both Monitors they brought exactly the same picture to the viewer when the normal configurations are given!

Why is the 25,5" solution so popular in the USA?

  • i just dont see the 2448hc model around in los angeles nor san diego.. :)

  • if your monitor is facing towards any windows dont buy glossy you will pay

  • haha try to see them in real life.. this video does help but doesnt really do justice for the issue between these two.. and w/c is better is really up to the end user.. i think..

  • went to cosco today.. looked at the sam t220 (similar to t260/hd) and the hp w2408h (similar to w2558hc)..

the brightness of the t220 @ max looks way dull. i tried even at 100% brightness and compared it to the hp @ 95% brightness.. the t220 couldnt tell much difference between dark from darker areas in pictures.. now i only need to know why ppl dont really like these glossy screens.. probably the t220 couldve been calibrated better?..

im really really confused as what to pick :))

  • If you have no way for outer light to hit the screen get the w2558hc otherwise go with the T2xx series cuz you'll regret getting glossy if light can hit it

  • I got the T260HD from Amazon for 350 USD

  • ppl do not like glossy screens because of the reflection that they may cause. I personally own a beautiful Acer x192w, but I'll get an hp w2448hc next week ( I want a larger monitor).

I <3 glossy screens. And I use it for gaming but also for photoshop, painter, zbrush and so on...

  • glossy creens are ok for everyday ppl who just want it to look prety... Graphic design coding web design ext its COMPLETLY anoying.

  • samsung better ...

  • Both are good but the reflection of background on hp is bad, i can see the lights as white lines so it means i'll see my head if i buy

  • i am still w8ng for both prices for the monitors to go down.. and still cant decide.. the Remote for the t260hd is tempting me and cuz of its tv tuner as well.. i dont have a tv in my room and the room itself isnt huge.. warranty 3 years

but i like the overall design of the HP plus + webcam, mic, 4 usb, mem card reader, better articulation and tends to loom bigger and more expensive than it is!.. 1 year warranty :(

    Prices: T260HD - 449USD, HP - 489USD

    :(

  • If you haven't gotten a TV already or you don't have a computer with a TV Tuner get the Samsung T240HD you get all the specs of the T260HD but in a 24" display and buying it offa Newegg . com you get it at $350 with free shipping

  • HP can be mounted on the wall which is a plus. Glossy screens are a matter of preference. I actually prefer the glossy screen over the matte having used both for my macbook pro and powerbook.

I've heard that the HP can oversaturate certain colors which might be a problem for designers trying to achieve accurate colors.

Both are quality companies though. No point in arguing which brand is better... cause we all know Koreans kick ass.

  • now i believe this is a great comment! and u are right about people's preferences. Its really up to them if theyd go for matte or glossy.. Theyll have to balance the monitors pros and cons and then decide.. i hope they dont forget that the t260 has more connection options and it has a built in tv tuner and is 50-100$ cheapr.. the HP has a 2mp cam, 15in1 card reader, better hight adjstments and 4(3) usb prts and i even believe it has a built in mic.. :D choose wisely :D

  • Both are great.

But I honestly don't see the 2mp cam and built in mic on the HP to be all that attractive. If I have the money to buy the HP, I would buy a better webcam and mic/headset as well.

I personally would go for the Samsung just because it looks sexy xD

    Personal preferences <3

  • isnt the hp a bit too bright?

  • Personally I think the colors are more vivid with the HP, and the picture pops out at you!

  • I agree, but the T260HD doesnt have a great vertical viewing angle. It appears slightly darker from above or below it. If you look at it straight on, it looks great.

  • in my opinion

the point of looking at a TV is straight at it, I wouldn't be down the room sitting and looking at it.

    IDK thats just me

  • I just won an auction on Ebay this morning on aSamsung T260HD, based on watching this video. I replayed this video over and over again. I will continue to replay this video in high quality until mine arrives usps priority mail ^^. Thanks for the upload.

  • the hp displays too bright images...t260hd a lot more realistic....you dont want to see a movie and see bright green when u shood see a dark green

  • matter of taste

  • @enyownz monitors and TV's are set to dynamic settings when in the store.

which means, the hp has better dynamic contrast and brightness.

so if you want realistic, set the monitor to it. if you want intense pictures, take dynamic. that is stuff you can do with the samsung.

  • hp look a lot better but you gotta remember that the setting are not default and rather some guy messed with them to make them look good...anyway i actually saw both and the picture looks quiet real on the t260hd but the hp is really eye straining

  • is not the look but the quality of the colors and images .. for now is the best hp

  • hp suck. they have nice feature but not as dependable as samsung. the samsung monitor is more like a tv then a monitor.

  • typical speech by fan boy

  • your right i went out to get a hd tv for my xbox 360 without realising came back with this t260hd monitor it does the same job so im def keepig mine and the pic is amazing gloissy stuff is flash but when facing any light or window you quicky come to your senses

  • @kurayami893 hp is better for pc moniters and samsung is better for hdtvs

  • But also, Samsung puts that T260HD, it has 10000:1, but HP was 3000:1, so i think HP has much better experience than samsung.

  • The samsung created a more natural picture.

But both of the screens was in dynamic, so the HP win for me. If you just turn the backlight a little down you can sit for ages in front of the HP too.

  • the samsung are best for all of u that play games, u can sit in front of a samsung for 24h whit no problem, samsung have more than 15 years experience on screens, HP it also good, its perfect for those that use the pc for max 2h a day, sure the hp have better resolution but that dont mean nothing!

  • samsung have TV tuner

  • hp for me

  • HP was the winner the minute it went up against Samsung.
