roses are red and violets are purple, sugars sweet so maple surple, im the seventh of the seventh son my daddy was a pistol im a son-of-gun, i said DANG ME y00sta
When I was five, either in Louisiana or Tennessee or something (it was for my parents' work, I'm not from either of those states), I met this eight year old boy with red hair and blue eyes. He would meet me on the hotel playground every day and we would play and he was so nice to me, and he was my first crush. I couldn't find him to say goodbye, and as we were leaving the hotel, I heard this song for the first time from one of my grandfather's cassette tapes. =] Its special to me. Is that weird?
Have this on 45rpm EP (remember them?) Five great tracks including Billy Bayou by Jim Reeves and tracks from Skeeter Davies, Hank Snow and Don Gibson. It was part of a short series of country EP's called "Country Guitar" released by RCA here in the UK in 1958. It was written by Roger Miller.
"Billy, I'm taking Annabell with me, if you....

I loved singing this song "when I was a lad" we spent hours lifting the arm on the stereo, scratching the LP and re-playing it
