Just coz they went mainstream doesn't mean their music still doesn't contain traces of punk roots. Have you seen the documentary Punk's Not Dead? Because that's how I discovered The Adicts. Green Day may not be as punk as they used to be, but how does that make them lame? The clearly state that they are not just one genre, they are a variety of genre
