It's nice, but expensive for what it does. I like playing it live, using it for improvisational solos - it can be a very expressive instrument. But I don't use it for recording much.
I'm allways impressed by your vids.. even with the arpegio on.. I can't see myself having and worst of it playing a micro just to little amount of keys.. and the sound you get with you lp and effects sounds great.. congrats again.
Hello there. I really like what you've done with this ever so nice korg product. I have been looking for that patch on my micro x, and I can't seem to find it. Is it factory, or something you editied up? Thanks!
What actually happened was that I'd been thinking about getting an LP, and then I ran across a Stage Edition in a store when they first came out and didn't care for the look. I knew that a limited number of Tributes had been made (1200) and figured I'd better get one before they were all sold, so that was what drove my decision at the time. I want to get a Voyager someday, but $3000+ for an analog monosynth is a big investment.
The Voyager RME is a really great alternative to buying the kb version; I purchased one on ebay for around $1700 or so. Guess it depends on what you're looking for performance-wise, as obviously the kb version's playability advantages with the touch pad and more spacious knob-layout are hard to beat. That said I sold my tribute edition and bought the rme + both vx units and don't regret the rediculous amount of awesome that's come from it. cheers to both of them, moog rules. :)
Ah! GReat stuff mate :) You gotta put more Moog LP movies online! It would also be great if you could put a movie playing with several Moog LPs presets. Just for people to an idea what that little thing can do! Keep up the good work!
I love it! the solo reminds me rick wakeman style, and for me it is a great compliment :)

That's a really nice LP sound. It's so solid, let slippery, like soap!

What was it that made you get the Phatty over the Voyager? Real Analog Control, price, or do you already have a Voyager?

yea your right $3000 is way too much for me to pay for a monosynth I'd rather get the Virus TI Polar you have

This would make a great prog-rock song! I really dig those kinds of icy/glass sounds that you play on the MicroX :)

Thanks... I'll put it on "the list" - have been thinking that I should do a Moog LP demo video. It's a great instrument.
keybdwizrd 4 years ago
That would really be awesome. The Moog LP is on the top of my list for synths to buy. :)
rockyshott 4 years ago
Please do, I am really interested in moog synths and other analogue synthesizers, and any extra information is great. P.S the song sounds fantastic!

If you haven't seen my "Korg and Moog duets" video, give it a look. Lots of Moog LP in that vid.

LOL. In truth, my inspiration for that Moog patch was Yes's "And You and I" from "Close to the Edge."
