good song, and the food all looks so delicious. When I was in Cambodia I had so much good food, but I do not know the name of one dish. It was the shells of medium sized river crabs. All the meat was gone, but there was some delicious black stuff still in the shell (maybe made from the fat or organs of the crab?), which is what you eat. Does anybody know the name of this dish, or have any idea how to make it?

Hi Jeff, thanks for your comment! There is no particular name for that dish, I think someone ate all the meat and left the shells for you :) hehe You know how it is khmer mentality...let nothing go to waste. They sell the meat crab for higher price and use shells to make snack.

Lol, I am not sure I am just guessing :) I will soon make a trip to Cambodia and I will ask people about it for you okay.

I was forbidden to speak English at home and I always have to help her cooking for my brothers and sisters growing up.. I love Khmer's food and Italian food. Poch, I was the same way.Since, I'm the oldest sibling, I always have to help my mom cook and do lots and lots of house works. So,by age 9, I was already an expert in cooking khmer foods for my family, somlaw kawkoh, machou krerng, curry, kaw, you name it, I was cooking them at age 9, but not for guests yet until age 11. I was the main chef in my house growing up since I liked cooking so much. Now, I only cook once in a long while.

That's what I tell my relatives in Cambodia and those who live in America, but they don't believe it.

"Stay away from MSG, because its a soft kill agent," I said.

And I'll give them researched facts from medical documents about the dangers of MSG, but they contiune to use it.

Now my uncle who lives in Cambodia have problems with his bones, because of MSG. Khmers use TONS of MSG in their dishes, it's crazy!!!
