  • A remarkably good recording indeed for 1914.

  • records don't do her justice at all, but this one is really fine. Heard her and her daughter Desi several times. Desi was a very talented and extremely musical singer. Luckily she survived nazi atrocities. Last time i heard her was on American radio. I heard she returned to Holland.

    15 Years ago I've heard Desi on the Dutch radio in a rare interview of 2 houres. You know the Goudstikker painting history. The Dutch museums had to return dozens of paintings to her daughter in law. They were sold for many millions in New York. Desi never claimed them and she lived from a small pension given to her by the Dutch.

    I have some recordings of lieder with B. Walter at the piano and some radio performances.
