Mate, you should get some sort of environmental award for that cleanup LOL. Seriously, we have just as much junk of just the same kind over here. Now if we could find the bloke that invented pull tabs . . . never mind LOL. HH.
@PeaceHavens Nope! I couldn't be so lucky! It is a mechanical chain off probably a baler or another farm equipment. It is probably pretty old though. You don't see them like that any more. I remember it on an old square baler we had. But could be from a thresher or many other implements.
Dont get discouraged Chad...My dad once told me ..Son ..one's mans junk.is another man'' junk also..Now go clean that Garage...I see some greats finds, from the man who coined the phrase 'GET GRIZZLY",,,R.D.D.
@REDDIRTDIGGER LOL! When I was going off to Seminary my dad pulled me aside and said, "Chad, you know not everything is in books!" I chuckled and said he should write a book on that! He was not amused! But the older I get, the more I understand what he was trying to tell me. I am however going to do a few park hunts every now and then just to find some Ka-Ching! These historic locations are feast and mostly famine! I will continue to do them, but sprinkle in a few coin shooting trips!
@moleman1961 The land owner and myself could not figure that out either. It could be from a million things! Wagon Wheel, old machinery, who knows? I may use it for a large door knocker and handle!

I save all my detecting scrap - take it down to the recyclers once a year. Include it with copper off cuts - from sites I work on. Last year - I got $396.00 so it sure is worth it. Cheers.
@GrizzlyGroundswell Oh - I'm sure that they have some value..if you dig enough of them. I try not to dig too many ferrous targets. When I do it's because I want to prove to myself that the X-Terra is telling me the right thing and if it is - that I'm understanding what the XT is telling me. On the other hand - at the site I'm at - I do find quite a few Copper nails and Brass nuts and bolts. It's an old sailing boat site. Cheers.
I have been putting all my junk finds in a 5 gallon pail... I was throwing them out and got to thinking... I dig a lot of copper, aluminum, and stainless... Might as well get something for it... Best of luck Grizz
@realredrebel You know I save all my finds. Maybe because this is only my second season, but I figure if nothing else they will become apart of some assemblage or sculpture. The precious metals I may scrap when I need my next detector! LOL!

@kevinniefer1 Yeah the rust is making it come up like a sweet silver signal. I had been hoping and praying all day for silver, and instead get rust!
