Poul was the brain and the real musician. Gene the circuspreformer the crowed wanted to see. Peter was nothing and had the minor hit Beth to thank. Gene was a real bad guitarist in the beginning...and had Ozone to thank to be remembered.....but together they were fantastic...But the 70's was the best...after that it went tooo commercial.....

Paul is one of the best frontmen ever. His willingness to share the spotlight is a testament to his character, because he could have gotten the "big head" and went solo at anytime.

@talon115 Yea, Paul has stayed true to what got him here. He couldve easily went solo. gene not so much. Without the makeup it was definently Paul who saved the band, with his singing, song writing, and stage presence. I'm glad Paul has kept the band going , they have defenitly been there for me thru the years, with their songs. I got to meet Paul on his 2007 solo in Minneapolis Mn. 15 of us got to go in for sound check, he played 5 songs, and talked with us. That was a real cool...

@mykylc Yep! LOL. I got pictures of both basses. In the late 1970s I got this catalog from a music store in NY called Freeport Music. That's where I first saw a Grabber bass. That was somewhere between 1978-80 and I was in 7th to 8th grade then. I had a thing for Gibson basses then and even now because you didn't see'em in the music stores a lot.

All this Winterland footage is excellent. This was the era in KISS history that I really loved and got into. But one thing. You ever notice that Paul Stanley sounds like a black transexual when he toasts the crowd. His voice sounds weird. But everything else is right on.
