Poul was the brain and the real musician. Gene the circuspreformer the crowed wanted to see. Peter was nothing and had the minor hit Beth to thank. Gene was a real bad guitarist in the beginning...and had Ozone to thank to be remembered.....but together they were fantastic...But the 70's was the best...after that it went tooo commercial.....
It would be weird if like peter, ace and paul were still in the band but gene had left. I mean anyone can look like the demon, but can they become the demon? Breath fire, spit blood? i dont think so. If they were still together all four of them, it would be better. Or if with eric and tommy, they had no make up. that can be an option. I hate to see eric and tommy with peter and ace's makeup.
Taint no jive. Live in 75. End of Jimmy Walker impersonation. On a serious note, EVH and Yngwie could learn a thing or two from Ace, the trill master. His guitar smokes for a reason beyond mere FX.
@garcemac we are in a grey zone today...it will take some lawsuits against to 'carrier' being Google and .... well they don't lose lawsuits (unlimited cash) so enjoy the music.
Paul is one of the best frontmen ever. His willingness to share the spotlight is a testament to his character, because he could have gotten the "big head" and went solo at anytime.
@talon115 Yea, Paul has stayed true to what got him here. He couldve easily went solo. gene not so much. Without the makeup it was definently Paul who saved the band, with his singing, song writing, and stage presence. I'm glad Paul has kept the band going , they have defenitly been there for me thru the years, with their songs. I got to meet Paul on his 2007 solo in Minneapolis Mn. 15 of us got to go in for sound check, he played 5 songs, and talked with us. That was a real cool...
@01po01po i completely agree!! i also met paul at one of his art shows and he was so down to earth and even showed me pictures of his kids on his iphone. definitely ranks up there as one of the 3 greatest days of my life.
@mykylc Yep. I can't remember the store who's suppose to be selling it though. Either Guitar Center (on line), Musician's Friend, American Music Supply, one of them. lol.
@mykylc Yep! LOL. I got pictures of both basses. In the late 1970s I got this catalog from a music store in NY called Freeport Music. That's where I first saw a Grabber bass. That was somewhere between 1978-80 and I was in 7th to 8th grade then. I had a thing for Gibson basses then and even now because you didn't see'em in the music stores a lot.
@cjjaxxon Very sweet. I have a '75 Gibson L6 Deluxe like Paul used to play. That's the only reason I bought it. I love that thing. Then I got the sister guitar to it...the Gibson L6S Love them.
I must say that they sound really well. Peter in particular sound really good under this concert, the whole 75 even. After 76 in my oponion he became worse.
ALL RIGHT BROTHER glad someone's got the balls to bring back real rock n roll. Everyone in the band should want to solo and show what they got. Shit if I wanted tosee and hear exactly what was on the CD I'd just stay home and save my $50 I want more +
