Now that ZeniMax bought Arkane Studios. This game is dead in the water. It's clearly using Valve's Source engine and now Arkane gets to use id tech 5 so I doubt this game would ever come out. You can already get a taste of this kind of gameplay with Left 4 Dead versus mode. Where each group of 4 people take turns as Survivors trying to beat the campaign, while the other 4 play as the Boss Infected trying to prevent them from completing. And however made it the farthest, etc wins. I heard they were going to have a campaign mode where you were always a survivor but people would jump in and out of your game as the enemies, and not take turns, but it was removed from the game.

By Crossplayer, I assume they mean there will be one strong player (Depending on the difficulty) who counts as the "Single Player" aspect of it all. They drive the story on, complete the objectives, and use all the kickass gadgets. The single player would have more health to compensate for being outnumbered. The other players are the "Multi-player" and are playing the weaker, less talented force as the enemies in the game. They try to prevent the story from continuing. Good idea. No, Great idea.

Its a simple system, when you play storymode in singleplayer, than the npcs might be online players, depending on your game choice, this can add new challenge to the game, since the npc's won't be using ai.

They do have ai for when you want to REALLY play single, but i assume there will be a preferance list or something.
