Where is this Reporter now? SHe was paid for propagating against the Taliban, but now she says nothing about the killers, rapists, murderers, thiefs, criminals from the Northern Alliance, the so called Sodomomized Tajiks, Hazaras and Uzbecks. For God's sake, you Tajiks, Hazara and Uzbecks were under Russia for centuries, but you think that Pashtuns are racist. Go to Moscow, and the will cust your head right away. These girls are victims of your Ignorance, Mather Fackers!
Khaled Hosseini hates ethnic Afghans, who are called Pashtoons! He himself belongs to the Qazilbash tribe (with Turkish Shia roots) that came from Iran 200 years ago. He should excuse because people like him (Qizilbash), that are employed in the Afghan administration until today profited from the Farsi-centrated education and political system in Afghanistan. The true Afghan language (Pashto) and the ethnic Afghans (Pashtoons) were oppressed.
@Atmar9645 your comment clearly shows how much narrow minded you pashtuns are towards everyone in afghanistan. as a hazara myself i have been through so much in life but still i shake a hand of friendship with pashtuns
@afghans4eva hey its not always like that...cmon things have changed a lot now...i didnt even now about the conflict between pashtuns and hazara...not until i read the book...ya we are not the same old pashtuns...especially who are living in PAKISTAN!!!...:)
@MegaPalwasha ofcourse things have changed, but that's because of political circumstances. also hazaras fought for change for the last 2 decades calling for democracy. but you still see it in people's private life. in canada tajik and pashtun afghans marry whites blacks hispanic but when it comes to a hazara they go wee that hazara? aint' that right? hells yes
@afghans4eva even in canada????:/...thats offensive...i wasnt expecting that in this modern century....and to be honest i dont see a difference between hazara and pashtun....:)
i feel so bad that i've seen the movie first before i've even read the book. i'm looking for the book and i hope its available in beijing. the plot was magnificent {i'm hoping that the actual book is too, or better}. i don't usually cry over watching films no matter how dramatic it is but this film, surprisingly, made me cry.
I just finished reading the book and I also found it quite incredible. I'm a little worried, however, that this movie will maybe over-dramatise it and make it too cheesy. We'll see, I guess!
OK, so that's what the book is about. sheesh, i've been reading it now for a while and i'm on chapter four and it's been basically a lot of describing and analyzing. no story has really started. i guess things will pick up soon..
Yeah I'm a manly man, and after reading that book I felt I wanted to cry. The ending of the movie took too much out from the book. I like the book better
yh they didnt put all the stuff that was in the book in the film, the book is more discriptive, there shud defo be a number 2 but i wish Hassan didnt die
its soo true and original kite runner is the best
The movie is already 2hrs long, but I wish they didn't change the ending like that. In the book Assef told the guards to not come in, and if amir walks out, let him go. Instead in the movie, the guards start shooting at him while they escape. And other different things.
I love the book. I have to admit tat i cried in some scenes. I cant enumerate those scenes. Big spoiler for those who hadnt read it yet. the best. the best. the best. i guess thats a big three thumbs up.
I have seen the film, here in Denmark. The film is very populare here everyone have seen it. The film had a good story, but there was some few things that wasn't correct, and everyone was upset about it, it's the chapter when a pashton guy rapes the hazara boy, Hassan.
And i am glad that they havn't let the movie been seen in Afghanistan.
Wow! How did you manage to get through the book? Can you read? Good job for getting through such a big person book! Must be a step up from "Hop on Pop"
You're right...it's a great book. His other book 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' is good too. It's much longer and a little more hardcore in some places. I'd love to see a movie based on that book too. Actually, I'd love to see a documentary on the Soviet occupation of Afganistan in the 80's. Some of the things they did over there were just wrong. The U.S. stopped helping way too soon in my opinion. But that's what we do I guess...
I don't think he was being sarcastic. He admits being wrong in his reply.
I read the book and saw the movie. The movie is made well. I still wouldn't recommend the book to anyone under 13 or 14. Besides...
It looks like someone needs to get a life. Grammar Police? c'mon, really? And is 85 the year you were born? So you've got some growing up to do too it seems. Stay in school and find something constructive to do other than 'police' grammar on YouTube. Honestly.

I'm doubting to watch this movie, 'cause looking at the trailer, the book must be a 1000 times better than the film.
