i was a forestry firefighter in canada and been in these planes,there are plastic tanks that mix with class c foam,we havent used stright water in years,the foam and water stops fires in there tracks,plain old water would evaporate from the heat of a fire.,there should be a small third plane called a bird dog which is the eyes for these big guys and tells them where to drop.,never ever stand directly in the line of the water drop as they are known to uproot huge trees.your front row seat is cool
The fire was in the Malibu hills. This is Lake Sherwood. The view starts toward the entrance to Sherwood Country Club Estates in Hidden Valley, CA (Westlake). I was standing on the other shore taking still photos, but was so excited to see what these pilots were doing, that the photos were worthless. I will always go to this lake if the Super Scoopers are in the air in this area. Fantastic.
