the discovery channel (or history channel) documentary about the tomb of jesus refers to mary as mariamna. this was also the name of herod's wife, in this theory=mary's half-sister, and she is referred to as "mary of cleopas"= cleopatra of jerusalem. maybe some historical characters were amalgamated.

One startling fact is that the old testament heroes in reality were not poor and obscure, but were wealthy powerful Pharaohs! I very much like this alternative point of view Jesus.

If we reject Dogma of the miracle of Jesus' Virgin birth, if Jesus was born around 2000 years ago, and if consider all the possible candidates to have given birth to Jesus, Cleopatra and Julius Ceaser would be on the list because they were alive 30 or 80 years before Jesus.

But, that is as good as it gets so far.

However, I do think this is the truth.
