I know the tambura is a distant third to the Bansuri and Tabla, but the woman deserves to have her name there too... I don't know if it's because she's a woman or that the tambura doesn't do a great deal, other than set the tone and drone you into a trance, but her name still deserves to be in the description.
How beautiful the world is to create music like this, instruments that sound like this and people who express like this. This is a blessing, a gift from the very center of all that is. I say thank you! Aho!
@BABAMUGHALBABASAHEB I feel compelled to thank you for your wonderful comments for the respective Tabla players of today. You're one of the few youtubers that have a respectful perception of music. Although many may have their preferences, it is not fair to mercilessly degrade hardworking artistes. It is a shame that we've allowed such ignorance and greed to infiltrate the sheer beauty that is exemplified through the performance of Indian classical music. Thanks again!
1. DHin 2. tetikete, 3. Dhin 4. na, 5. Kat 6. ta, 7. Dha ge 8. na Dha 9. tetikete 9 beats, I can say that it what it is for Punjab, Lukhnow, Delhi and Farukhabad Gharanas.. Perhaps it is played as 18 (to Hazefreak) in other places. I know that in Karnatak Classical Music there are a number of different beats.
@Hafezfreak Yes, this is the case with a lot of Taals for example, Soolphak was known to have 10 beats, but over time the number of Matraas was cut in half and the Taal is now known to have 5 beats. Same with Sikhar Taal. The number of beats is in fact 34! Again, the same thing happened over time and Sikhar Taal is now known to have 17 beats (which is actually Ardha Sikhar Taal).
Actually matta taal is of 18 matras.

This flute player, Deepak Ram, is a master, a wizard. He brings tears to my eyes and I'm sure even Lord Krishna would be just as moved.
