It is true that it is not the same lava made of liquid soil that we know here on Earth. It is a plasma as you describe, but I thought that the word 'lava' is more spreadly used to describe the hypnotic movements. As a lava lamp doesn't has lava either, but it resembles it somehow.

It must have been one of those YouTube re-compressions, too bad. Original theme was those 5:12 long, and now it lasts 3:04.

I'll see if I can update the soundtrack, it is a great theme, called "Cruise", that a friend of mine composed.

Sun spots dont really last that long. They last for about 20 days each with an 11 year period of intense spot activity on our own sun although they may occur at any time. They arent supposed to last for billions of years as this vid demonstrates. Nice vid anyway. Looks more advanced than Celestia.

Well, I guess it could be said so, as there is no lava as we know it at Earth. It is just a descriptive word.

lets see, H means Hydrogen and He means Helium, right? If thats what your saying those mean, your quite correct. But those H and He elements cause atomic explosions, which, of course keep the sun's core running. Those atomic explosions occur on the surface of the sun as well, but its viewed as magma, seeing it really doesn't cool down much to be considered lava. So its not all hydrogen and helium. And i'm sure theres nitrogen.

This is pretty good, I'm waiting for the complete program. You can improve the effects prominences, solar flares and granules of the photosphere to make the surface more realistic. But now it rocks anyway!
