Yes, these people are not failures. Many choose this life and are the best, most authgentic people you'll ever meet. They are also highly skilled and capable of surviving far beyond (regular) people. VJ
Churches could care less. All they care about the money they can milk out of people. Take The Chapel for example. This mega-church here in Akron persecutes the poor and hates the same. Knute Larson recently "retired" from The Chapel after 26 years of lavish living. He lived the most luxurious life-style while the Senior Pastor at The Chapel. He could care less for those less fortunate.
This fella is a good talker he should write a book about how it is. Might sell then he could use the money to help those that are in that situation still.
Why can't the rich people donate some land for these people who need help, gosh, all they need is land to exist. Put yourself in their situation. Do unto others as you would want it done unto you.
Very sad but these people are used to it and very resilient. Until the political will arises from common dignity there will be more for us to report on Steph. Take a stand with us!
Most have tents because of our group iCare America and other faith and service groups. But now I see many laying strewn across the wasteland left behind. VJ

People been living in tents since the beginning of time.
Living in a tent is not some "weird" idea. Tents make a wonderful home...shelter.
Just read the Holy Scriptures. Abramam, Issac and Jacob all made their dwellings in tabernacles. Where they "wrong" for dwelling in tents?
