depends who sanctions. i know in most japanese mma org mostly pride allowed approved wrestling shoes with kicks included. some states here allowed it without kicks before but, no more with the unified rules.

Kid is probably wearing shoes for better traction, because he trained a lot of boxing before this fight. He went to Okinawa to train with a WBA champion, so yea....But they should have rules against that....and if you wear shoes, you shouldn't be allowed to kick.
