@TheCrazyCastle Ah, but no. The announcer was referring to him as the third king of England to bear the name Edmund. There has only been one series of Blackadder set in the Renaissance (Blackadder II), plus the special Blackadder the Cavalier Years.

The series "Blackadder the Third" was set during (well, starting just before) the Regency (and prior to BaF, the only Blackadder to rule, although under the alias of George IV)

The formulae for a Black Adder episode is that he has a devious scheme which seems to go well but at the last minute, fate intervenes and bollucks up his victory.

A propper BA ending is the tv showing him in the background as the janitor gritting his teeth against destiny.
