  • hickory shad? been catchin bait for awhile caught alot of bluebacks there some stinkin fish...great bait...did i hear someone say they ate them?? what time a year do they run spawn?

  • Looks fun. The hickories are already running strong up the Cashie River in Bertie County, NC. Caught 5 yesterday in an hour or so. Fun sport.

  • Those aren't shad. They are skip jack herring.

  • They are hickory shad, we catch them yearly as they make their spawning run from the ocean. We dont have skipjack. We have blueback herring.
