Recorded 1/19/63, all three girls were from Queens. Herb Rooney was the male singer. Little know fact the Exciters were the first to record Do-Wah-Diddy, later recorded by Manfred Mann
The Exciters with TELL HIM what a song what a hit for all ETERNITY. this doo wop rocknroll historian lived thru those years. i love this song as does my generation. Thanks Exciters you made us all EXCITED with this song and others. TOMK
The best part is the utter RANDOMNESS of their choosing to film at the zoo! That early scene when they're singing as if directly to the bear is delightful. :)
Thanks for the information about the singers and a little bit of their history too. Love this song...it's immediate. Did you know that the late, great, Dusty Springfield is on record as saying that when she was in the U.S.A. she suddenly heard this belting out of a record shop and thought, that's it, that's what I want to do. Inspiration at it's best.
I love this video and I enjoyed it very much. Brenda Reid has great voice and she sings great. She is hot and beautiful. Other 2 beautiful black ladies ( Carolyn Johnson and Lillian Walker ) and late Herbert Rooney were great and they did excellent job too. One of my favorite group. Excellent well done. Thank you for putting this up.
A Top 5 hit for The Exciters in January 1963.

WTF!? LOL. Why did they shoot this at the zoo? lol. RANDOM.

I love the carosel sequence. Nothing visualizes the carefree feel of the song more.
