  • Health service: nationalised!

  • Creation of the NHS, hugely improved public schooling, legalisation of homosexuality, equality for women, abolition of death penalty, no more deaths caused by failed backstreet abortions or wrongful convictions. Yeah, what a truly awful record. Makes me thankful to have the tories around spreading misinformation and fearmonger the general public into voting for their regressive and damaging policies.

  • This clip is like watching a slow motion train crash.....

  • Why did this person cut out Labour bringing in public health care after WW2, making homosexuality and abortion legal, giving women more working opportunities, improving wages and working conditions. The person who made this video clearly LOVES the conservative party :/

  • Now let's see you produce a video showing the authoritarianism of the Tory Party. Somehow I suspect we'll have a deafening silence on that one.

  • Has anyone in the Conservative or Labour Party's High Command actually had to do a proper day's work on shit wages - I doubt it. They're both political parties that sponge off the general taxpayer and peddle bullshit via their BBC state propaganda news agency on a daily basis. Let's have a bit of democracy for a change starting with a referendum on our membership of the criminally corrupt European Union project that is costing us £billions.

  • The Labour Party has been hijacked by public school educated lawyer Toffs like Tony Blair and Harriett Harman. The Labour Party has now become even more anti working man and pro the criminal led and fascist European Union project than the Tories ever were.

  • people should be thankful thet they only have to pay 9000. in america, it's 150,000, student achaly work to get mony, and dont rely on goverments to do their washing up for them. get a job, and get moving, stop being so lazy and be gratful you have more opotunatys than any other contry. lazy sods.

  • Up until Labour switched to the Authoritarian, more capitalist Labour (aka "New Labour") They were perfectly fine.

  • If anyone wants the real truth type this in:

The REAL History of the Conservative Party

  • Are the austerity measures currently being enforced by the incumbent Conservative/Lib Dem collective not worthy of being labeled authoritarian intervention?

Why not let the free market have some freedom?

What's up with nationalising this particular recession anyways?

Did the state really need to intervene in order to create the same levels of unemployment, hopelessness and grinding poverty that unfettered Capitalism is perfectly capable of creating if left to its own devices?

    Come on chaps.

  • Up until about 1:25 in this makes the labour party look great in my eyes.

  • @SketchRoomAccount agreed looked great up untill new labour or red tories as i like to call them u need good people in control of the state so all greedy bastard tyrants dont get their hands on the resources control your monetary system and make people pay through the nose for everything, and destroy society socially, but the problem is its already happened.enjoy uk

  • What a load seriously dishonest, slanderous crap. It is the produces of this propaganda who seek to impose their will on others for their own benefit and call it freedom; like all parasite capitalists who want most ppl working for scraps and making the few rich. The parasites on society like those that made this video call democracy authoritarian, and corporate feudalism, freedom. Really, the ppl that made this video are either liars who deserve prison or a bullet, or are brain washed morons.

  • Socialism...The exploitation of the poor for the power and greed of the few.

  • I don't get the point of the begining ot this video? Nationalisation of those industries were pivatal to our economy, now British Steel is owned by a Japanese company! And they don't even make it here in great export quantity like they used to! Lmao major fail!!!

  • Look there are a list of progressive things labour has done not to mention: welfare state, NHS, National Minimum Wage. I could go on for days and days on end. This is pure Tory spin that shows that you lack understanding of politics. Marx never founded Labour, Labour was founded by Methodism! Anyway people watch the History of the Conservative Party. That teaches you factual stuff i.e. Section 28, Poll Tax, Black Wednesday, pro-capital punishment. That is REAL fascism.

  • Welfare state, NHS, Open University, Wheatley Housing Act, comprehensive education, free school meals, Sure Start, lessening Class size, Child Tax Credits, Housing benefits, lifting millions from child poverty, lowering unemployment, a growing economy-the largest industrial economy in the world, a climate change bill. They were achievements under Labour!

  • There's nothing scary about nationalism. Let's look at it in reverse where the public sector becomes privatized: Public police would now be working as private police under someone you know; public roads would now all be privatized and you'll have to pay a toll booth every couple of miles; public trashmen would, like in Mexico, be gone and you'll have to pay someone a lot to throw ur trash. And the last "scary" things shown are neo-con policies that mirror Bush's policies for national security.

  • What is it about some think dick heads that think the answer to all the countries problems is nationalising this and nationalising that. Fuck sake get a grip have we not found out time and again that the state is rubbish at running most things. Fucking socialists.. How many of them kicking off at privatisation want to go back to the days of nationalised communication when you HAD to get your phone line from BT. How many want to go back to the days of nationalised energy and only have British ga

  • what is the music? Its sick

  • what a pile of fucking shit, labour introduced NHS and the welfare state, nationalised industries helped the poor and the working class, not to mention the economy as a whole. If the banks were nationalised we wouldn't have found ourselves the the economic crisis we are in today. This video is right-wing propoganda and poor misinformed propoganda at that.

  • lol, nationalised railways, it's like Stalin, only worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @hayleee2k7 I think your definition of the Labour Party being like Stalin is ridiculous. We used to make trains in this country until stupid privatisation when Daimler Benz asset stripped it and put 28,000 men out of work in Derby (including my father, a fitter at the locomotive works). Now all new British Trains are made in Italy using technology developed under a state owned industry in Britain!!!!!

  • Ok, some not so nice moments in there. But compared to the history of the tory party? It's like comparing Hitler with George Bush

  • So, the Labour Party nationalised stuff? Oh, jolly good! I'll vote Labour then!

  • A history of nationalisation? Excellent! Vote Labour!

  • 1948 - Health Service

    nationalised

oh wait, do we like that or not?

  • we have a 28 day detention of terrorist suspects not 42 day get your facts right

  • i actually fear for this country. i believe if we have 5 more years of labour this country will never be the same again. It will be lost for ever. will become one with europe. britain will no longer exsist. england is already a forgotton word.......

  • Brilliant!

    VOTE LABOUR!!!

  • Labour has screwed up the UK big time.

Anyone who votes for Labour because of tradition (people have in the past, told me they do), it is not about tradition. It is about who YOU think has the policies you believe in.

This video has hit the nail on the head. Thanks for posting this BlueBlighterTV.

  • Never ever vote Labour.

  • Never ever vote Labour.

  • I think this sums labour up perfectly

  • which do ordinary people have more control over, a "democratic" govt. or private tyrannies which are indistinguishable in how they operate from the Communist Party? Politics is the shadow cast by big business over society...if you change you change the substance, not the shadow.

  • It's a wonder you did not mention the NHS, that's socialist is it not? The most socialist thing the Labour Party ever did. Why don't you attack that? What about Comprehensive education?

  • that is a good point!

  • Vote Labour people. Think of the Majority in this country not the minority. The Tories are a right wing party.

Vote Labour. Red Flag Flying High.

  • The majority of people work, Labour gives more money to those who don't work than they take in income tax. Labour is the party of the tracksuit-wearing, knife wielding minority.

  • @soyinka101

Furthermore I would rather be unemployed and have conviction than have a paid job and be a lazy thinker taking out your work frustrations on those who don't deserve it.

  • BTW, Thatcher started restricting the right to protest long before NewLab.

  • Nationalisation is not, and never has been, socialism

  • It's a rather integral part, what with the desire to control the means of production.

  • So the miners in nationalised coal mines in 1984 were in control of the means of production and closed the mines and sacked themselves then?

Likewise British Leyland and the shipbuilding industry in the 1980s?

  • Comment removed

  • Britain in the 70s was not dissimilar to the GDR.

  • @soyinka101 You weren't even alive then so how would you know?

  • Well said, my friend!

    VOTE LABOUR

    BROWN 2010

  • Not only did they natinalise our steel industry and Car industry but they also fucked them up.

  • Fantastic vid. But the railways were nationlised in 1948

  • We wealthy need more of your money. We cant get enough of it whilst this lot are in so vote for us and become a TRUE BLUE!!! Times is ard Mr Mcawber!!

  • The wealthy don't take YOUR money, unless they're wealthy through work in the public sector.

  • Nobody gets wealthy in the public sector unless their a fat cat boss like Sharon Shoesmith.

  • Look up surplus value and profit.

  • I would like to bring up the issue of nationalisation. In itself it is not a bad idea. Take the BBC, the worlds greatest broadcasting corporation is a nationalised industry.

However, it is out of the hands of government - Nationalisation is acceptable under certain circumstances under these conditions.

  • The BBC is probably the only broadcaster in the world that has people jailed failing to pay BBC / TV Licensing for the privilege of television ownership.

  • YEAAHH!!

  • There was no democracy in the 1970s. People voted for a party but the party could do nothing once in power. Because the unelected and selfish trade unions repeatedly challenged, defeated, and destroyed the elected governments. So inflation reached 20%, we had to be bailed out by the International Monetary Fund, we had electricity for 3 hours a day, and we were a laughing stock on the world stage. That is not democracy!

  • @thebigJM92 WHat you on about here in Scotland the Torries destroyed our industry and we lost all our jobs, Our Trade Unions couldn't help us so we had to rally and unite only to be beaten and harassed by the police, Thatcher was a Fascist who destroyed Scotland!!!

  • @TheComradeRoss Do you ACTUALLY know what fascism is? Have you studied what it entails? If you had bothered to actually find out about fascism you would know that it is much closer to socialism economically than Margaret Thatcher ever was. Ever heard of corporatism? Fascism regulated all business and nationalised specific key industries when necessary. And by fascism do you mean fascism (ie of Italy) or do you mean the National Socialist German Workers Party run by Hitler?

  • @TheComradeRoss Scotland's industry was dead before Thatcher. I don't like that fact. But it was true. I am from Lancashire and i have had to come to terms with the fact that my county, once at the centre of the world, is now almost nothing. Do you know why that happened? Because no-one was buying our stuff anymore. If no-one buys our stuff, then we can't cover the costs of the industry and the industry goes bust. Do you know why no-one was buying our stuff?

  • @TheComradeRoss Because thanks to Old Labour policy and the militantness of the trade unions we priced ourselves out of the market. With wages going up and up and up the prices of the goods we sold had to go up and up and up which meant less people were willing to buy them. Other countries had this problem to a lesser extent, but they solved it by buying modern machinery meaning they could make more product per worker. Not in Britain though because the Unions wouldn't allow its cost in lost jobs

  • @TheComradeRoss By 1979 the industries were already dead, Labour was artificially keeping them alive (as zombie industries) by throwing vast sums of taxpayers money at them (helping to cause Britain's bankruptcy and humiliating call on the IMF for funds).

Thatcher "destroyed our industry", i say to you HOW? She let the dead industries die (killed by Labour and the unions), only those that could survive in the real world survived, and Britain as a financial unit recovered from bankruptcy

  • @thebigJM92 let me ask you one question. have you ever visited some of the coal mines in Scotland where tour guides whom are ex-minors show us how much coal is still their to be mined but can never be mined again due to water flooding and we are scared about our fossil fuels running out well we can blame that one on Maggie, The loss of thousands of jobs we can also blame that on maggie.Poll tax ? Scotland was a testing ground for poll tax and because of that our standard of living is worse off,

  • @TheComradeRoss I have seen them in my county (Lancashire), and i have seen the great old brick factories, once so proud and resplendent in Victorian/Edwardian grandeur brought down to nothing but rubble, or left to rot. You think i like to see these things? You think i dont wish Britain was still the powerhouse of the world from whom everyone brought goods as in the days of the Empire?

Most of those factories closed in Lancashire in the 1970s, they closed because the government left them...

  • @TheComradeRoss ...left them to face the full force of what its stupid policies had done to them. Old Labour policies of virtually unlimited Union influence, never-ending far above inflation pay rises and the blocking of the ability to compete technologically is what destroyed them. The owners went bankrupt or closed their factory whilst they still had a penny left in their pocket. Lancashire cotton was once dominant, by 1979 it hardly existed. The only reason this hadnt happened with other...

  • @TheComradeRoss ...industries was because the Old Labour government was pumping vast sums of everyone elses money into them to keep them going. Without that money (literally tens of billions every year in modern terms) they would and did die, but it was not the fault of Thatcher, all she did was take away the money they SHOULD NOT HAVE NEEDED. What was the point of an industry in Britain expensively digging up coal when everyone was buying it from Spain for half the price? We had no CUSTOMERS.

  • @thebigJM92 We should of dug coal for the people of the UK you know be more Self Sufficient which an even famous Torrie Churchhill wanted Britian to be incase of another war, and not for profit. Maggie was how ever someone who viewed the UK as her own bank account and only thought of herself and the Higher Class of the UK.

  • @TheComradeRoss But even the people of the UK weren't buying British coal when they could buy it half the price from elsewhere. It was the same with British Leyland (another Lancashire firm that went in the '70s even after vast sums of public money). Only the government was using it, and the government was being constantly held to ransom by the radical mining unions (in 1974 it actually toppled a democratically elected government) who wanted bigger and bigger pay rises.

  • @thebigJM92 Also Nationalization is the only sure way to stop Wankers...sorry Bankers from paying out massive bonuses, What has saved the UK from the economic abyss on many occasions?.... Nationalization of private sectors, That goes for all of the world the US.

  • @thebigJM92 dont get me wrong i am no supporter of labour anymore as "new Labour" are just Tories in red ties they do nothing for the workers anymore... in fact i would like you to answer this... what party does in the uk?

  • Absolutely brilliant! Elected governments should have no say whatsoever in the running of the national economy. Businessmen and private investors know what's best for all of us and should be free to do whatever they please. And all taxes should be abolished--except VAT and the Poll Tax, which should only be used to finance the military and the police. And, of course, bring back hanging, abolished by that vicious socialist Roy Jenkins.

  • Are you for real Stephen HP? Businessmen and private investors only know how to fill their pockets and shaft anyone to get rich quick. Then expect the state to step in when things go tits up for them - and then start all over as if nothing has happened. This video is one biased rant and educationally useless!

  • Authoritarians can work within a democracy, it's what they do when they are in power that we should worry about.

  • Brilliant, this shows that the labour party has no place in any free democracy, their presence in British politics is abhorrent in the extreme.

  • @rossproduction

    This is genius.

'The Labour party has no place in any free democracy.'

'You couldn't make it up' etc

  • @rossproduction 'their presence in British politics is abhorrent in the extreme'?! Are you totally blind? This video is total and utter propaganda! Total lies! Labour has been on the side of authoritarian intervention?! I think you'll find the Conservatives are closer to fascism than Labour. Labour is on one side and one alone: social justice. It is a party of the people, not some evil organisation! Wake up and stop allowing yourself to be blinded by blue lapdogs.

  • Great stuff.

  • The libdems have done one to attack the conservative one too! Please do one against them lots to choose from... Fight against women's suffrage, Fight against abolishment of slavery?

    Keep up the work x
