Most likely because he clarified what he meant, which I take to be the following: He must connect the two entities for those who feel that they are not linked. His only connection is that if we fail in Iraq now, the power vacuum we have created will be left open to radicals. Aside from the fact that this mess was created on the basis of a lie and has put us at greater risk. 41,000+ Iraqi civilians killed

this as of 9/12/06, you can add 2 to 4 per day to the number of US Soldiers killed.
