  • D0G!!!!

  • using pvc is better than metal conduit

  • i think you should get a peice of cloth or rubber on the camera mount so the metal dosnt scratch up your camera!

  • where the hell do you live....are u that rich!!!

  • Would have actually been a much better video if ypu actuall showed how to use it. Other wise it is a bit of a wate of time

  • Just use the million dollar bill you stashed in your zip drive piggy bank to buy a steady cam :3

  • O.k. cool but I agree w/avallonmist - what does it look like when finished?!

  • More of a glide-cam than steady.

  • ummmm....? shakey kipkay?

  • the reason why it is stable is because of the weight which makes is not shakey when carrying

  • Nice! You guys should make a Roku Channel! Easy to do!

  • Really. We need a picture of the finished product. Just shoot a few frames in a large mirror, if that's your only camera.

  • can i see it how it looks? its dificult to understand how it need to be..

  • it makes your recording steadier because its so heavy you cant move as fast while carrying it!!!

  • sorry about the name lol

  • i dont think it will work ....how does it stabilize the cam corder its all one pice....

  • @manginapoop I'm thinking because the weight reduces the shaking. The weight at the bottom will make the camera stay steady because its harder to tilt/shake when it's weighed down

  • the weight poped out and broke my foot

  • @bubbles16177 time to sue makemagazine

  • @bubbles16177

Yeah, wish this bloke could have shown the piece in action (how you hold it and maneuver it). BIG problem is, it is EXTREMELY difficult to tilt up or down or sideways with this damn 5 pound weight on the bottom. So you gotta think in terms of I will only shoot level horizon shots with this. If you have to tilt at any point, GOOD LUCK!

  • This reminds me of a pipe bomb

  • people spend 2 to 3000 on cameras and cant spend 200 for a glide system hmmm

  • Why does he record with his big ass camera, but the quality is 480p!

  • Lmao i love how he makes drilling through metal sound so easy and routine !!

  • Your house is nice :)

  • By the looks of that guy's property, he doesn't need a $14 cam stabilizer.

  • use PVC thats lighter

  • dude that was not steady

  • i doubt he ran

  • those aren't lock washers

  • nice house

  • he went into the minutest of detail on how to build this contraption only to leave everyone in the dark at the end on how to use it. what a waste

  • why don't you show how it's used??

  • how do you hold the damned thing???

  • @the1minininja think of it like this: -I , you hang onto the hypen, the top of the "I" is where the camera goes.

  • finished product?

  • @grdaemon think of it like this: -I , the camera is on top of the "I."

  • He sounds like Kermit the frog. I would honestly watch any tutorial by Kermit the frog!

  • Comment removed

  • Who nice house

  • why doesn't this guy show the best way to hold this thing.....useless

  • Flange washer

  • Nice tut; except I wish you would have shown the finished product.

    b/b)O(

  • @avallonmist HE never actually finished it duh

  • i really dont get how this is gunna make your cam corder steadyer..

  • @allthatgoodstuf because the weight and extra grip makes it easier to hold and manuver without it shaking because your hands are unsteady.

  • @allthatgoodstuf The weight on the bottom gives you some inertia. I've used one like this and it actually works pretty good.

  • @allthatgoodstuf The more it's weighty, the smother the camera moves. Don't flame, this is realy working!

  • @allthatgoodstuf The added weight smoothes out any shaking, because the shaking is too light to move it.

  • @allthatgoodstuf First of all, this adds inertia to make the camera less likely to shake. Secondly, it moves the center of gravity much lower making the camera much less likely to tilt. Voila.

  • @allthatgoodstuf you sir are what we call "retarded"

  • @row907 i sir, couldnt give a fuck less

  • @allthatgoodstuf It's simple physics and weight distribution.

  • @allthatgoodstuf The weight balances it out. But i tried this and after a while my arm got extremely tired....But this stabilizer wont control up and down shake and that happens alot.

  • @allthatgoodstuf It lowers the center of gravity, it also makes the camera heavier so less movement from your body is transfered/effecting to the camera.

  • he needs a tv show

  • is it just me of is his 'steady shot' actually not that steady???

  • @tomcorocks45 It just $14.. What more can we expect??

  • will it work with PVC

  • however this is technically not a steadicam, it has no gimbal or gyroscope to compensate for angular motion, it just isolates your side to side movement a little.

  • at 1:14 there is the same pliers that he used in charcloth

  • yeah, seriously spend an extra $5 and buy a $20 tripod this would look stupid as hell to hold in public

  • I've made my own with an old tripod that has legs that will open all the way flat. Mount camera as usual then have one leg extended all the way parallel to the ground. Hold the extended leg as you walk. Seems to work pretty good for me.

  • Press 8, 8, 8, 8

  • you never even showed the finished thing! Plus the footage was pretty shaky anyway, it seemed to be vibrating loads

  • What kind a piece of shit are you making and sugesting for people? Moron

  • How does Kipkay have time to tend his yard so nice if he spends all his weekends doing weekend projects?

  • Thumbs Up For Dog

  • can you use PVC instead of steel?

  • @contact1araya Yes, but you want the steadicam as heavy as possible for more smooth filming.

Would you feel a bumpy road more in a 4 ton Mercedes or a tiny little Honda? It's the same principal...

  • y not use the tripod for same result

  • 4:01 You have 2 jetski`s?

  • 0:39 ... I feel like I have taken drugs

  • @SethBurrowVideos Dude, that hardware guy saw you coming.

  • everything is nice and tight :D

  • Is that ok for a DSLR?

  • DOGGY HELPER! @ 2:35

  • show how you were moving.

  • how are you supposed to hold it?

  • Thanks for the advice this was helpful, though I wouldn't trust my DSLR on something I put together myself. I've been using the Cam Caddie Scorpion and it's helped me capture some very professional looking shots. About $37 on Amazon, well worth it.

  • I think it would be cheaper to use pvc pipe.x)

  • 119 people dont have $14

  • I'm confused by the counter weight thing. Don't you have to use a weight depending on the weight of the camera? And the handle, doesn't it have to be at the center of balance?

  • awsome!!!!!!

  • Love it! Very nice and very clear explanation of everything. Usually DIY videos miss one thing or the other item or tool needed. Thank you.

  • yo, that aint no steadicam. your title's misleading.

  • @sentientagent camera stabilizer and steadicam same shit!

  • @taserking1 a steadycam involves moving parts and is thus significantly more awesome.

  • @sentientagent same thing you douche

  • @masenz orlly. i guess you looked at the patent for you to be an expert on the steadicam. how about you educate yourself before calling other people douches because you assume they are more ignorant than you are. it looks like you're actually at lesser end of the spectrum.

  • No offense but it looks kind of heavy compared to some other DIY ones on You Tube.

  • @MrBooojangles you can use any weight you wish. MrBooojangles.

  • Yes finally found a make magazine!!!!!

  • i thought i got rid of him on my recommended

  • Imagine the looks you would get running down the street with this

  • i made this thing and it cost me 44 dollars, prices have gone up but the results are worth it

  • If you build it you will see how it looks in the end result if you just follow the steps.

  • gotta love this guy :)

  • That would hurt really bad if you were running and then hit your leg with it XD

  • For all of you who want to see the finished product go to 14dollarstabilizer () org

(I dont own the site I just happen to come over it while looking for a way to build my own stabilizer)

  • @IliasisBaas same.

  • the finished thing was displayed in the catalog :>

  • SHOW THE THING ACTUALLY ALL TOGETHER!!!

  • Kip, your diy instructions are well done. Best on the Tube

  • I could hold my camera with my hands and the video would be smoother than that..

  • @MrLoadedLarry I doubt that!

  • For Some Reason i only watch KipKays weekend projects Thumps up if you do the same :D

  • @aLiMaStErR i agree lol he is a master helps out alot

  • the camera behind him shows what hes doing now at 0:03 to 0:30

  • guys!! do this with a weight that has a lage diameter!! i tried it with normal wieghts. trust me it dosent work with normal weights!!!

  • you failed to show the final construction and how to hold it ...

  • wow, I don't want to ruin you 666 count of comments HA. But I guess I will, I built my version from Lowes. It cost me about 24.00$ and I had all the tools already. It does work well, but if you have a lighter camera and are a bigger person I would suggest using more weight than 2.5 lbs. I'm satisfied so far, now on to build my DIY lighting setup :)

  • props to johnny lee

  • most video geeks don't have drills.

  • Has anyone actually done this? does it work well?

  • what the fuck do you all want to see? its 3 pipes connected to camera and a fuckin weight....you REALLY dont know how it looks like? plus like 90% of you wont make it...

  • where is the final product?

  • 3:11 Drive, kipkay ! Drive!

  • haha as soon as i saw the title of this video i was like

'huh, that sounds alot like johnny lees old videos about a $14 camera stabiliser'

lol i was recently looking thru his projects after i came across the wii mote whiteboard

    what a coincidence

  • How many volts is it? Where do you plug it in? Where can I go to get my poodle clipped in Burbank?

  • how do u hold it

  • "You may want to experiment with different size pipe later on" lol

  • why did kipkay bought a steadicam if he just could make 1 in 4 minutes and 18 seconds

  • @L2DragonHunter It's not nearly as good as the steadicam he bought.

  • but will it blend?

  • Its silly - several people copied this idea and made videos of their own and no one holds it right !

  • i swear if u san flange washer 1 more time im gonna SMASH MY MONITOR SCREEN

  • @MrBigguy911 flange washer

  • @MrBigguy911 funny thing its a fender washer not a flange washer

  • dear mr. kipkay your chanel is my fav youtube and i love your web site kipkay.com can u make a laptop cooler becuse my laptop gets to hot and i dont what to pay up to 150 dollers for one for my laptop sin andrew if you can sind me a email at ajacob1992@yahoo.com thanks ps im your #1 fan

  • Полный бред.

  • 0:00 - 0:37 look at the camera. was he looking into a miror?

  • @renzo9120 yep

  • I did this years ago for my GL-1. Worked great. I still have it. I just did a series on 5D Filmmaking. Cheers.

  • expurment

  • I just built this with 3/4" pipe and 7.5 lbs of weights and it works GREAT! -- $28 bucks and a half hour of time, well spent for smooth shots.

  • i loved the colores in the intro....aaaaaaa

  • Increase the angle at the bottom so the main pipe is at about 50 degrees to the floor. Then add a small handle that attaches via a ball and socket joint. This means most of the energy goes in to this joint and not directly onto the weight.

  • 2:24 It's Jeter :D

  • Thank you. I just love these kind of easy DIY stuff. But as said before, show the final product in picture, what it look like, how to use it, but i fugure it out anyways, you had a picture in the paper. Great.

  • How do you hold it?????

  • @alewisgb see at 0:36 ;)

  • @alewisgb LOOK @ DA PIC OF THE GUY ON 0:34!!!

  • @alewisgb I think you hold it on the two pipes and let the whole thing pivot in your hands

  • @alewisgb You get a quick snap shot at 37 seconds in on how to hold it. You loosely hold the horizontal bar with one hand and steady the vertical bar slightly with the other.

  • @alewisgb Usually I hold them with my hands, but if you want to hold them different, I don't mind.

  • @FutJJ how not what you use!!!

  • @alewisgb You got 2 sticking out pieces, you hold these not too tightly, and the wheight will hold it down so it stays still if you walk with it

  • @alewisgb that's a good question LoL xDD

  • I cant believe he said experiment with differnet size pipe later on

  • how do u hold it?

  • Wingnut.......CHECK!

  • If somehow you could add a spring in between the camera and mount you could dampen even more vibration from walking.

  • thumbs up if you watched kipkay on the camera screen!

  • i've made this before,it works AWESOME ! Totally makes your video ""professional"!You'll get look when filimng your kida at the park, but they'll look like they are in a movie!

  • nice job never showing it....

  • oh dang, almost 200,000 views

  • I got all the supplies, but I still have one problem: I can't drill through the cap. The drill I have isn't a wooddrill, so any idea what I'm doing wrong?

  • @SerjTankian33 Nevermind, I got it

  • @SerjTankian33

get a carbide drill tip at the hardware store

  • lol

  • I love Kipkay's backyard!

  • thumes up if you watch kipkays videos but dont do the progets

  • Hey, everyone keeps complaining that there is no test video. Here is one;

    /watch?v=s6Q072tuF7M&feature=channel

  • Didn't show finished product in its entirety. Wth?

  • 3:30

  • @TheJames0227 thx lol

  • 2:50

  • 2:00

  • teaching a dog? oh, lovely!

  • or u can just buy a steady cam

  • @PE0PLE4LIFE good luck finding a $14 steadycam

  • that's great, now how the hell do you hold the thing, what does the weight do?

  • Now, i just need to know how to handle this

  • Gaaahhh KipKay is everywhere.. >.<
