As you know, Nolan's Batman movies are more serious and based on reality than Tim Burton's and that lunatic Joel Schumacher's movies, so how could the Riddler be a good villain in an upcoming Dark Knight sequel? I just can't imagine a fitting modus operandi for him, as he (as far as I know) almost never killed anyone in the comic books. This Riddler will have to be darker and scarier, in which way could he be? What kind of traps could he make?

If you mean, the "The Batman" Riddelr looks gay, I totally agree. I was absolutely horrified when I saw what he looked like. He's my favourite villain, and I don't know where they came off thinking he should become "scary goth man". My favourite Riddler is the one from BTAS, and after that I think their versions went down-hill, (yes, including Jim Carrey's). I do like what Mr. Freeze LOOKS like though, I think the whole "spiky ice" thing is kinda cool.

The way they reinvented a LOT of the supervillains was pretty awful, really.

Bane looks like the bastard child of the Hulk and Clifford the Big Red Dog. Joker seems to have embraced a rastafarian hairstyle and shot himself full of steroids in the meanwhile (or just screwing a Gorilla).

And the Riddler? Ugh. Dude looks like Marilyn Manson, with a ridiculous mustache to boot.

1) Bane had big muscles. That's how "weird" he was in the old animated series.

The new "Bane" is at least five times the size of an ordinary human being, has yellow eyes with no pupils, a jaw that would put most herbivore dinosaurs to shame (and teeth to match), and RED FUCKING SKIN which makes even less sense then the rest of the package.

2) It's not just the looks. He's got the BODY of an ape, and fighting skills.

I think this is... 'modern style' maybe. Kids wants new, colorful villains. Of course, some time ago children likes to see 'old' versions of Riddler, Joker and Penguin with these tommy-guns and old-fashioned suits. Kids needs more futuristic characters! When i saw this video at first time, i thinked: 'Riddler in cyberpunk style?That`s so cute...' - but this is because i like cyberpunk.

Riddler gets a bad rap because of Jim Carey's terrible performance. He's a great villain though, and he has a round personality, he's a quizzical psychopath with a purpose and a point. To all the people that think Joker is the only villain Batman should have, fuck you, lrn2plotlines. Riddler is a perfect choice for Nolan's next movie.
