For ore detail about the presumed phenomenon of robbery by hypnosis see: Carlo Alfredo Clerici, Laura Veneroni, Angelo deMicheli,
e Isabella Merzagora Betsos. Robbery by hypnosis in Italy: A psycho-criminological analysis of the phenomenon based on 20 years of newspaper articles (1988-2007). The International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, 57(4):419-430, 2009.
It is completely possible to rob someone with hypnosis. You gain rapport from them, maybe even offer them a "free hypnosis" session for weight or smoking, at which time you plant the "Sleep" command. Later while they are at work you buy something from them, as soon as they pop the drawer open you get them with the "Sleep" command. Drawer is open, and you got cash... Not that I've ever tried it... but it's one of many down right evil things hypnosis could be used for.
What got me hooked was the fact that they were using hypnosis to attract customers. They were using advertising techniques and language patterns to hypnotise potential buyers but I didn't care. If they could do it, I could, and I wanted to learn the tricks of the trade.
It does work, it might not work well at first, but the more you understand about hypnosis and the more you understand about the situation, the better you are.
You can't be that good if you're that ignorant towards NLP, pattern interrupts and suggestive deepeners. Hell, you don't even need to put someone in a deep trance. Just create rapport then use an interrupt
There are people who would like the general public to think that they can take control of other people through sleight of mouth. I have a professional obligation to speak the truth about my vocation. Your rudeness doesn't make you better informed, just ruder.
No person can take control of another's mind. People can be tricked, just as shortchange artists have ripped people off for years. Bottom line, if hypnosis were a good way to rob people, they'd be doing it all the time, all around the world.
not many people are good enough to do it. study nlp a bit. This is called covert hypnosis. Derren Brown is a good example, look him up on youtube, big guy. It is not hard at all to do something like that. Just takes some knowledge of NLP, Hypnosis, and persuasion techniques. *personal experience* BUT*** true. You cannot take control of their mind you can only use mind tricks.
I disagree. Derren Brown IS very good at what he does. However, this kind of misinformation is very harmful to the profession as a whole. My practice does just great without NLP, thanks.
But I believe that even though it would make people a little more unsure about coming to a hypnotist for help that people much like this store clerk should know of the dangers of a mind that is in *auto mode* I just ask that people be a little more aware of themselves and their actions and this kind of thing would never happen. But I recommend NLP if you would like to shorten your sessions to like...one minute instead of an hour. But the hour does make it seem like they get more and reinforces
in the mind what you are doing. some people need that. But some sessions can be done much quicker and as a hypnotist to a hypnotist I think you should really try it out. Even out of just curiousity. You'd be surprised what you can do to help poeople with this talent.

The problem with that scheme is you've established a relationship with that person, who can now identify you. Unless you can wipe their memory?

I am TIRED of ignorant people who post on this video.
This stuff is extremely possible! It is known as covert hypnosis or NLP.
A lot of what Derren Brown does is just magic tricks, but a small amount is NLP.
I know firsthand this is possible, when I heard about it I thought "bull!$*%" But I decided to try it out.
I tried to covertly hypnotize a buddy out of his wallet, and it worked.
Ever since this stuff has fascinated me.

What makes you think it was only sleight of mouth though. We didn't get to see the whole video. He could have built a lot of rapport beforehand
