  • this is for hip flexors as opposed to rectus abdominus, right?

  • great video, guiys be sure to checkout my channel and subscribe!!

  • It may sound stupid but I've had a bench like this for years but never figured out how to use it properly! Cheers :)

  • thanks scott appreciate this.

  • @deamfortier behind the head because of leverage and whole bunch of other terms i do not understand

  • Hmmm, I am well on the downside of the hill. This man, however, inspired me to buy one of those situp devices and start exercising. Thank you Scott, also for the other videos. You are terrific.

  • I have an awesome way on how to do Decline sit ups that you will LOVE check my channel page!

Keep up the good work Scott

  • I have to Subscribe, you are a Youtuber

  • could you got on a diet that makes you look more cut an RIPPED up_OILED up_JAMAICAN under the sun to give us an example of how your meal plans work.

id suggest what i call a caveman diet: ((what u can eat below))

tuna or grilled chicken; raw fish; quinoa; hard boiled eggs; raw vegetables and fruit; daily supplement. (*oatmeal in the morning*)

do a lot of cardio to get that 5% to -5% and take fish oil to replace that bad fat w/ good

THUMBSS UPP if you want scott to look cut even in the light

  • i do this everytime in the gym..100 reps per day 25-25 is this good enough??

  • How would you be able to do these at home?

  • Hey Scott, Question: Any time I do this exercise I feel that I always engage the muscles that are the sides of my legs JUST below my hips. Even when I focus hard to control my core, i feel that this muscle group kicks in because im using it to hold myself upside down or something. Is this something that is normal or is it because im still not focusing enough on just my core muscles?

  • Yo scott. how much exactly do you weigh at the moment?

  • hey scott, is run stairs good cardio?

  • @deamfortier you would hold them behind your head

  • @deamfortier holding the plate(s) on your chest is standard way to do it

  • scott, you should make a video of your weekly routine, without the extra stuff

  • You Should Do An Episode On Spartacus Ha

  • @Kasec23 that would be killer!! :)

  • @ScottHermanFitness

    You are doing it wrong

1# keep your head parallel to your spine not the ceiling

2# keeping a hollow back and then getting up will make your hip flexors work not the abs For training the abs you should keep a slight arch in you back opposite of a hollow back then when you get up you use your abs the most

  • Hey Scott, take care of your voice, okay? In the last couple of week it sounds like your're getting dysphonia. Just take care and take consultaion in time, if needed. It can get nasty...

  • HI Scott. Was this the ab exercise you were mentioning in your most recent weekly update and the one that "killed" your abs and lower back? Thanks, as always.

  • How many decline sit ups should I do????????

  • @Nazaret99 thanks man

  • @deamfortier Im not scott, but. You could grab a Plate, and hold it above your head, arms locked. You keep your arms perpendicular to the floor and you kind of crunch on through while you hold the weight up. Don't hold it above your core... It makes it easier.

  • Hey Scott, I really need your help. I want to workout everyday and I dont feel any effects of overtraining. My work-out routine currently is, Day 1: Legs Day 2: Chest Day 3: Back Day 4: Shoulders Day 5: Arms. Repeat. I am wondering if I can cycle through this without any break days. Thanks alot!

  • i did this for a year and saw nohting happen so i quite

  • Scott you're such a fuckin beast!!!

  • There aren't many good demonstrations of this on youtube. Good job scott!

  • that exercise is bad for your lower waist

    but good for abs tho

  • Scott, sometimes my neck hurts when i do sit-ups... is that normal?

  • I watch these videos all the time before going to the gym and would just like to say how much they have helped me. A year ago I got out of a rehab clinic for drink and drug abuse and was weighing 15 stone. Today I am 13 stone and it is pretty much muscle thanks to these.

  • lolz. i thought that it was a massage chair

  • On my fitness instructor corse i'm being told that you can't work your lower abs. It's all or nothing?

  • hey scott, what's the difference between Decline Sit Ups and Deep Crunches?

is one better than the other for certain things?

  • You're insane my friend. I get my butt wooped just on your pillow abs exercise alone. Awesome as always.

  • i love your videos, very informative.

the only thing i can't stand is how you exhale. people that exhale loudly like that in the gym always get on my nerve.

  • i get a headache every time i do this exercise, so i tend to avoid it. anyone know how to prevent/fix this problem?

  • @deamfortier I place them on my chest and hold them w/ my arms crossed.

  • @deamfortier i do it by hugging it, close to my chest

  • FINALLY one that i always do...love this exercise

  • i wonder if scooby is subed to scott?

  • i didn't know scott was a model xD i google him and i saw his butt no homo o.o

  • everytime i do normal situps, my spinal cord feels like its going to snap

  • that exercise mostly works the hip flexors

  • @njedinjedi not true at all actually

  • Scott, I got an abs bench for Christmas.

Please do an ab bench routine if youve time. :)

  • @deamfortier chest or plate behind the head.

  • Scott you need to come to my gym and show people how to do this, I have kids doing the dumbest stuff on the decline situp...

  • @Cold1Forged oh yes... it happens everywhere unfortunitely :/

  • @ScottHermanFitness ...does makin abs cease the growth of chest ??? or upper oart of te body ???

  • is it just me, or is Scott getting bigger?

  • @futb0lista7777777 I gaine a few ;)

  • @ScottHermanFitness scott probably gained more muscle :)

  • @ScottHermanFitness Hey Scott, this might sound weird, but I have a REALLY boney tailbone, that I have injured on several occasions, and it makes doing sit-ups sort of painful. Is there something I can replace this with?

  • @futb0lista7777777 I gained a few ;)

  • @futb0lista7777777 i think that because he wears his pants somewhat higher, so that you cannot see the end of his v-cut

  • This is a pretty hardcore ab exercise :) Awesome video as usual, scott! keep it up!!

  • @Cobrakay2003 Thank you my friend!! always more to come!

  • @deamfortier

    behind you head

  • the best way to do these are to go up to the right and down, then straight up and down, then up to the left and down... much better than just up and down

  • why when i do this exercise it hurts my lower back after 1 set ?

  • scott wanna trade bodies ?

  • @deamfortier hold a plate on ur chest?

  • I can't take the pain of my thighs when I do these! :(

  • @TehColton i think thats due to you trying to use your legs as a lever to aid in bringing yourself up throughout the reps, in time your abs will slowly get stronger and you wont need to use your legs at all but for now concentrate on not putting any force in your legs and just crunching the abs =]

  • @deamfortier I think you could hold them with your hands.

  • can u do dragon flags ? or negatives, those strengthen ur abs the best

  • that's a good question crocjump. does it work well to do deep crunches with t-ups on an decline bench?

  • @deamfortier i usually just hold a barbell while resting it on my chest while doing these

  • Hey Scott,

Have you ever tried the Vibram 5 finger toe shoes? I hear they are really good for squats and deadlifts, do you have any input on them?

    great videos

  • Can you do your "deep crunches" on theese benches?

  • This is a great exercise, but i'm sure you agree scott its nothing on the deep crunches :D

  • sweet bro!

  • awesome

  • how you do this exercise weighted? In a safe way I mean ;) I can do 30 of these but I want to build a nice, strong 8-pack... so i only wanna do about 12 (weighted)

any tips? thx man! Love your videos!

  • thats not a declined crunch; thats a declined situp. crunches are much shorter, more jerky movements to really pump up those abs, while situps work with overall abdominal strength,

  • @ariisbest2 title says situp...

  • @rerereremixxx at the end he says crunch

  • i love these although dont have one of those benches at home :( good video much love

  • Another great video from a very inspirational person! Thanks for all the great work you do for us hermanites! You have helped me alot and im very thankful :)

  • hey scott. how many muscles should i work out per day?

    thanks for everything man

  • @calummunn

Depends if you are doing a whole body routine or split your body in 3-4-5. If you split your body into 3. you just do a press day (shoulder, tri's, chest) and pull day (back, biceps) and a leg day alone ;o If you are doing a routine, i think its the best to do 2 sets of a superset. a compound+isolate movement. For example chest: Bench press and cable crossovers right after, or Squats and Leg extensions ;o hope this helps. Dont blame me if people disagree with me:)

  • @calummunn refer to them as muscle groups. work one muscle group every day or do a split where you work 2 muscle groups a day three times a week.

  • Keep uploading more your a beast

  • @duffsbirdhouse88 always! :) Thanks!

  • i is first

  • whoa, no views, likes or dislikes.

    I feel accomplished
