It won't... most people get frustrated with just paddling out. Remember how hard it was the first time you paddled out into the line-up? Most kids want instant gratification... something that surfing doesn't give you. You've got to work hard to even begin turning on a wave, ya know? Snowboarding and skateboarding is full of kooks because there isn't much effort needed into starting.
