I have been wanting to do this exercise for some time but when i try it it often feels like my lower back is getting sore in a bad way. any hints to do it better. Could it be too much weight maybe ?
@rodlaz1984 The form isnt perfect yea, knees should be bent also along some other little tthings but the back poisition n so forth are correct, u see pro bb-rs doing this like with very shitty form back should b eclose to parallel with the ground, that's how powerlifter who has competed in my gym taught me...
Pulling the weight up to your fucking chest! You pull it to the waist for proper form. And the elbows are nowhere near tight enough to the body to focus the weight on the lats.
@kombatcookie Pulling to waist is pretty much the ideal way to do it, exercising the whole back not just traps + rear deltoid. check for different ways to do it exrx.net/WeightExercises/BackGeneral/BBBentOverRow.html
good dude but I think you should bend ur knees a little because I did that today and after the couple reps I felt a little tension in my back.....but hey its just advice right?......at the end of the day U can do whateva the FUCK!!!!! u wanna do.
its all good but personaly i think you could lift more.your alot bigger looking thanmyself and i do it with 90kg but i mite be talking site cuz this is probly an instructional vid and you do lift more when you workout lol
i normally don't do Bent Rows because of my lower back issues but can this exercise also work the outer chest. i would go and just do it myself to see but i really don't want to take the chance to mess up my back more on a hunch.
If you want to target your lats you stand more upright but bringing it to your chest will target your trapezius/upper back more. Now, on alot of 5x5 training programs, where you have chin ups and deadlifts involved.. the last thing you want is to neglect the traps and do even more work on your lats.. therefore the OP is correct this should be brought into the chest, shoulder blades together to target this area. I think the ability to add more weight regularly makes it better thanthe upright row.
Can I suggest lowering the weight, slower form so you feel the shoulders blades coming together this is what your after, rhomboid, lower and middle trapezius development. Also you can just use ROM from knee to stomach. not floor to stomach.
The form looks like it could cause some serious back issues in the long run. I'd bend the knees more, raise the back higher up and arch it backwards a bit.
hey dick head, ask any fucking builder builder and they WILL have a dead lift or a bent over row in their program! bnecause it is a full body workout & u fukn need it, ask a pro - Vince delmonte, or scooby werkstatt. do some research u fucking dumbass, i bet ur a scrawny cunt
haha... ur still a bitch, anyone with HALF a brain will know its the perfect whole body exercise... useless son of a bitch, shows how little you know. lol
Anybody knows the "squat" is the perfect overall exercise. READ!! Get educated...You can't because you replaced that thumb that was up your ass with your head...LOL!!!!!!
All that I said from the beginning was for this guy in the video to do was one- arm rows. They are better for your back than bent-over rows. Then YOU called me a dick head...WTF is that? It is YOU that needs to go back to school. DICK HEAD!!!! Your just an asswipe that likes to talk shit and start arguments....Your pathetic...Go fuck yourself.....
I didn't think this guys form was too good like. Didn't like the way his elbows were not tighter so his sides... Work the shoulders more doing it this way, when should be lookinf to focus as much as as possible on the lats by keeping elbows tucked in
no offence but you are using momentum and obviously the weight is too heavy for you. you are asking for injury, why not start with lighter weights and work your way up?
haha pussys like you need shot! thats why some of us get big and wimpy safety ponces like you stay think and weak...go and read a book instead you fairy!
You are 24 year old kid, when you injure yourself through bad form your body will regenerate quickly.
As time goes by you will begin to notice that this capacity to regenerate goes down hill, unless you are taking steroids.
When you get an injury which stops you training for a lengthy amount of time you will understand why people are interested in keeping good form over moving more weight, and with your attitude this will be soon.
Ive lifted weights since the age of 15. Pussys like you really have no clue. I've had long term injuries, believe me i had a year out with rotator cuff.
Good form is paramount, im not desputing that but gym queen fairy choir boys like you who do nothing but worry about form will never progress. Anyway this guys form is exellent
As I said wait till you pass 30 and you realise that you will be in this body for the rest of you life and you will have a different perspective..... kid.
Megso3, I think what makes you angry my young friend is that you know, deep down, that most people who go into a gym go in their to maintain a healthy body. They neither have the will nor the genetics to take it further. I go so I will still be able to walk when I am 80 years old.
It hurts you that they are not in awe of you for lifting heavy. You put so much work into it and people don't care, not impressed. So you berate others for lifting medium and safe.
Looks to me like your lifting into your chest, try standing slightly more upright and lift into your stomach and slow down your dropping the weight, lower it with control!
@LarsTimme i have. it feels great at the shoulder blades and the rear delts. but i still stay a bit more upright beacause i have a weak lower back. your form's good.
@LarsTimme still to many places fucked. back is good straight, but not parralel with floor.. also, look at the ground forward.. you're experiencing pain in nek for no reason. also, the barbell should touch floor like deadlift
last time I remembered..The elbows had to be pointing at an angle above the back to be a BB bent over row... if not is was not being performed right.

@Ashneelp Each bell is 25Kg and the bar is 20Kg. You clearly frequent the gym regularly.
On another note. I prefer to do this exercise with a little bend in the knees as after deadlifts the strain is too much for me.

Ok but that's not a bent over row I am saying. Absolutely shocking form. Look at the fucking elbows.
