  • Arguements aside. This is still a great car.

  • lol good commericial i wish they would make more like this one and actually make some testing ones too making the car used up to its full potential im tired of these same commericals and especailly local ones...

  • More glass less chrome? That must be where they went wrong...

  • I want to buy his tie.

  • You can hear 40 years of crappy GM quality when he shuts the door. CLONK.

  • My first car i could kill the dick who did a hit and run on it

  • you gotta love that 70's slang

  • " its got deep fucking seats upfront"

  • LEARN your camaro facts Dumb A** ALL 70-73 RS camaros had the split bumpers NOT just the 70's!!!!! You people that THINK you know Camaros make me sick!!!! The one in this ad IS a 70 LOOK at the bucket seats!!!! They are one year 1970 ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I recently saw an old couple, they had to be in their late 70's, early 80's at least, loading groceries into the back of an 09 Z06 Corvette with veterans license plates on it, I bet they don't use that car for what it was designed to be used for, unless that old man still has alot of lead left in his pencil.

  • the 1972 model has 4 headlights

  • Sounds like an 883 HD commercial , lol .

  • top gear? really?

  • The Super hugger? Sounds like some big fat chick trying to hug you.

  • This is a 1970 model. The seats with a separate headrest were 1970 only. It was a short production year. The 1969 model was produced until December while GM readied the new model. 1971 models differed only by having high back seats and lower compression engines with SAE net horsepower ratings. The split bumperl was the RS package which was available both years. GM didn't call this a 70 1/2.

  • @mjc152 like when Ford released the Mustang. GM never called these 70 1/2 camaros, they were just 70 camaros. Ford never called the early mustangs as 64 1/4s until very recently (for 'stang fans.) to Ford they were just early 65's. for ford it was an early jump on the model year sales. for GM it was a late start to the model year (cause of design issues and factory strikes).

People today call early 65 stangs 64 1/2s because of certain options not advalible yet untill later in the 65 model year.

  • These 2nd Generation Camaros were the best to drive - they handled so great for a car that was so reasonably priced. They really hugged the road, hence the name "Hugger' - Nice that the Heat/Air controls were on the left side of the steering column, so the driver has complete control of the temperature in the car, ha ha...Thanks for posting, awesome -

  • This is my favorite Camaro body style. I love the grill.

  • A delay in production made this the '70 1/2 model . 1969s were offered as the first '70s

  • i own this car :,D

  • Lol this is sweet my friend has a 73 with a 383 stroker in it totaly rebuilded it with his das he got it when he was 14. 3 years finnaly done and it's a fuckin fun ride I love it. I love camaros. American classics!

  • You ass.. Only the RS package had the split bumpers...

  • i want that necktie/bib.

  • Super hugger lol,

  • I like that, 'it's not how old you are, it's how old you're not!'

  • @SkylarkGSX that's not what he said buddy, "it's not how old you are. It how young you aren't"

  • who is this guy

  • now that's a commercial. That's the kinda thing that makes me wanna buy something. If I saw that on TV in 1971 I would have left my house and bought the Camaro right then and there.

  • @81TransAmJunkie

yes, I agree, cars from 50-69 are my favourite. yeah yeah, they were "less safe" way less fuel efficient blah blah blah, but holy fuck did they just look awesome, I really don't give a shit if my new suv has "downhill assist" fuck man stop the r&d on "features" and make the cars look sexy inside an dout, thanks, not only were the cars better, but the commercials make you cum, nowadays the commercials are basically, cliche "humour" + some sex appeal + ego boost = come buy this

  • @81TransAmJunkie

but the old commercials really capture the freedom and creativity and creative thinking that human brains should be able to enjoy with the absence of govenemnt, economics, and religion, please also check out this video watch?v=YdQzINRAVdY&feature=related, I'm not trying to get his it's not my video, it is a related video for this video, it's a 1969 car comerical, it's so fun, lvieyly, and good spirited

  • @thefutureboom sorry buddy the link didn't work. I copied and pasted it into my browser but it didn't work

  • its not how young you are, its how old you aren't? Sheesh, they pulled some real crap-ola out of their ass to take up time in a commercial. Funny thing is, GM hasn't changed.. they still have crap commercials that say nothing about the car thats worth anything..

  • i own a 70 it is canary yellow, and its gets girls head turning at my college when i drive by

  • Camaros are cool...but I always thought Firebirds were sleeker and more stylish.

  • How does that flat dash "wrap around you"?

  • I dig driving...but I don't dig that car...looks like frog :))

  • Yah, I think a fuckin Jap bubble car looks alot better, thanks for the wisdom.

  • Oh man, check out the polyester and that sycodelic tie. Wow!! thats far out daddy-o.

That was a nice driving car.

  • douche chills

  • I heard taht 'Pap John" Schatter had a Gold & Black '71 Camaro, baught it back for a jaw dropping $250,000, I always liked the Camaros, every year

  • that*, not taht, Papa*, not Pap

  • I dig driving.

  • Nice suit

  • this 12 a 1970 camaro, 70 camaro had buckets w/headrests 71s had high back buckets.

  • This is a 71 -73 model 70 models have the split front bars not a full bumper across the grill...

  • wow as if i m stupid ??

My bro is a cheif engineer & designer @ GM

  • @masab003 Then I have pitty for your bro to work for an assole like Bob Lutz ! The poor guy !... Your bro have all my sympathy !

  • @masab003 Oh God, did he work on the Cruze?

  • rally sport or RS had split bumper only 1970 had low back bucket seats

  • I agree with you that rs had the split bar but chevy would advertise the base models with the split bar as well check the 70 ad's they all might as well of had split bars who ever didnt option the split bar back in 70 was a nob!

  • @STUCUTZO Try again all early second gen Camaros had this front end. including the 1970. The split bumper was ONLY on the RS model which could be by itself or added as an option to the SS or Z28. This front end was the standard front which was used on ALL years and models that did not have the RS option.

  • @dav8388 Plus the car in this commercial is a 1970 notice the head rest.

  • @STUCUTZO it says 1971 Original Chevy Camaro Commercial

  • @81TransAmJunkie The title for this post was changed from "1970 original pontiac firebird commercial" to "1971 Original Chevy Camaro Commercial"

The guy who posted this commercial thought the only difference in styling between a 70 firebird and a 70 camaro was the badge!

  • @STUCUTZO not all 70 camaros came with the split bumpers only the z28, ss, and rs came with the split bumpers the regular camaros came with the full front bumper

  • @STUCUTZO actually, 1970-73 RS optioned camaros had the split bumper, a full bumper was available on all standard option 70-73 camaros.

  • @STUCUTZO '70-'73 RS Camaro's had the split front bumper. The base and SS had the full front bumper.

  • @STUCUTZO split bumper was on 70-73 RS and Z28 package all four years, all other 70-73 models had one piece bumper...

  • @STUCUTZO ...BEEEEEP! WRONG answer....The "endura" split bumper was only available with the Rally Sport option in all 1970 1/2 to 1973 models. The The non-RS models had the full length front bumper and different turn signal lamps below the bumper. A common customizing trend was to swap the full width split bumpers for the split two piece units which fit on the same bumper brackets. There were a lot of there "fake" RS cars rolling around a few years back. I had a real '73 RS Type LT 4spd car.

  • haha dickhead!

u might as well fix the title or every pontiac lover will put shit on you unless you change it!

  • This is a CAMARO commercial, not a Firebird commercial, masab003.

  • your rite... but the firebird commercial is exact same as this one.. only pontiac logo inthe front.....i couldnt find it on the internet that is y i gave this one... anyway thnk u for our comment

  • "but the firebird commercial is exact same as this one.. only pontiac logo inthe front....."

The 1970 Firebird is not a 1970 Camaro with the Pontiac arrowhead on the front clip.

  • wtf, this was a camaro commercial! lemme guess, you're one of those morons that thinks they are both the same with the exception of the emblems right?
