  • Surviving an isolated incident of one nuclear blast will be in general no problem for

    anyone outside 5 miles.

Surviving a global nuclear war however is a different thing entirely because the biggest threat after the bombs is other people and the lack of cohesive society, with everyone being a hunter gatherer.

Trying to pull your own teeth, get an appendix removed without pain relief will become the norm for most.

good luck with that, ill stick with potasium cyanide myself.

  • @MDEMONIC689

Too bad you don't have the will to survive. You've not only made that decision for yourself, but for anyone who may have to depend upon you, such as a spouse or children. Oh, well, more supplies to go around for those willing to survive.

  • @SilentHunter658

Currently nobody depends on me, i depend on others.

Darwin is gonna kick my ass if the bomb doesn't :( .

Survival means a lot to insects and bacteria and what have you, but that is because they are as dumb as a rock.

Intelligence compels you to survive with purpose and meaning without suffering, nature compels you to survive no matter what, for no reason, no end goal and nature does not care if you suffer.

I'll concede that everyones mileage may vary on this subject.

  • Awesome parody of Duck & Cover. I like how she repeats practically all of the same points word for word. :D

  • In the event of a nuclear flash : 1. sit down, 2. bend over, 3. put your head between your knees, 4. kiss your arse goodbye.

  • kuidotcom has a loy of info about preparing and recommended this video.

  • More people die from fallout from the nuclear explosion than in the blast itself. The radioactive debris is carried in the air down wind. Good news is the radioactivity becomes less and less as time goes by. Hence why people talk about fallout shelters. A nuclear attack is completly survivable if you are not in close enough vicinity to be vaporized.

  • The fact is, nobody would die from radiation from a 'dirty bomb' - Its a well-know fact that the radiation level is so low there would be no ill effects from it, hence its not really a good weapon. Please stop spreading neocon terrorist propaganda.

  • Was this for real?

How can you even begin to compare a dirty bomb with a nuke? Find a house with intact windows? "If you were near the explosion, remove your outer layer of clothing..." -What clothing? Wouldn't it have burned up, if it was a nuke?

I'm rating this 3 stars... for entertainment value.

  • @rodhatte yes sure, if you're within that blast radius. But the explosion from a nuke doesnt stop there. The radioactive material/dust will travel several miles. And so people who didnt die from the explosion will still be affected by its aftermath, thats where this video comes in.

  • what a load of shit! none of that will protect you if u r near the explosion!!! you would be vaperised!!! this film is just to make the health aware people happy!!!

What to do in a nuke explosion:say your prayers and shoot yourself in the face!!!!

  • Hey potty mouth, you need to dial back the negative vibes man! The video was made by people who volunteer their time and money because they care about the public. It wasn't made by the government who doesn't care. These are some of the top doctors in the country. Wise up tube boob!!!

  • and the government tells everyone that they volenteer there time and money.just to try and keep people happy.and soz 4 swerin, i was drunk.

  • I think people who give up in the face of problems (cancer, war, marriage issues, etc.) need for others to give up. The vast majority of people affected by a terrorist nuke would live - and benefit from knowing a bit of knowledge like presented here.

  • Most people that died in Japan when we nuke it didn't die in the inital blast...it was fallout.

  • One problem with this video... "Cover" does not necessarily mean covering your head. It means covering exposed skin against the effects of the flash and thermal pulse. Thus preventing severe burns which in a time of crisis will likely be untreatable.

  • Excellent "gateway" video to learning more about civil defense.

  • nice ..so basically there are going to be a bunch of screaming nude people running around..looking for showers ..and with 65% of America over weight ..it will be a horrific sight!

  • absolutely unbelievable. the world's going down the pan

  • Duck and cover....nice to know that everything old is new again....
