It looks like a similar plot to Alfred Hitchcock's, "The Man Who Knew Too Much," with Jimmy Stewart and Doris Day. Ordinary guy ends up in deep waters, he's completely innocent but has to use his wits to survive--the Hitchcock film is probably better.

Not necessarily, though--

We need more imagination in Hollywood. Too much CGI, car chases, bombs going off, not enough drama of regular life. I wonder if "Terms of Endearment" or "Ordinary People" would even get made today? Great films.
