Broudeur has been in the NHL longer than the Canes have been in Raleigh. He's also one of the better goalies of his generation. But he can't seem to beat the canes when it comes to the playoffs. notice we put Gionta on the ice at the end of the game. (down 4-3) this tells me when we needed a goal we still felt our best bet was with gio, parise and elias. gio was 2nd in points yet we're going to let him walk. great job lou-pay pandolfo 2.5m, zubrus 3 and rolston 5 and let a guy that bleeds devils red. if gios out im not renewing my season tickets.

Broudeur has been in the NHL longer than the Canes have been in Raleigh. He's also one of the better goalies of his generation. But he can't seem to beat the canes when it comes to the playoffs. Last I checked, the Penguins won the cup, we got swept by the eventual champs and all the Devils did was blow a series they were "supposed" to have in the bag...

Should learn to spell Brodeur before you post his name. I respected the Canes run this year but yu still only have the one cup to the devs three so show a bit of respect. i actually cheered for the canes against the bruins and pens so im not hating by any stretcg. just be respectful to a team thats won 3 cups, reached 4 finals in less than 15 yrs.

I'll echo some of the comments in saying that Brodeur is a Hall-of-Famer, regardless of what happened here. 3-time Stanley Cup champ, Conn Smythe award winner (playoff MVP, I think, I deeply apologize if he wasn't), winningest goalie ever, one of the hardest to score on ever, best goalie handling the puck ever. Without him the Devils would be like the Detroit Lions of the NHL. This is coming from a Caniac, in which by the way, the greatest 80 seconds ever.

And in case you didn't know, the Nets had the 6th worst attendance rate in the entire NBA this season. The Hurricanes attracted almost 1500 more fans per game than the Nets. The Canes also outdrew the Devils by almost 1000

RBC's one of the loudest arenas in hockey. The only one I can say for sure is louder is Edmonton. It's much louder than the Prudential Center though. At least they're drawing better in Newark than they did in East Rutherford.

Brodeur's been our entire team? Are you kidding? Do you not watch hockey? It's practically the talk of the year. Brodeur was out for 50 games, and we still managed to clinch 3rd place in the east. Not to mention, we were one of the teams on top of the league in goals for AND in wins. To me, it doesn't seem like Brodeur's been our entire team. i'm not jealous at all...i have a ton of respect for marty and he is one of the most skilled goaltenders i have ever seen...he stops pucks without having to beef himself up and look like a michelin man like so many other goaltenders (carey price, jonas hiller, henrik lundqvist) do...

I know for a fact it can easily get over 140dBs in there. Thats right up there with walking up next to a jet engine and having the afterburners turned on. Trust me, it's really fucking loud. If it's not the loudest arena, it's definitely one of them.

I'm a Devils fan, and I hate to admit it, but their style will never change. Every time they're up by 1 goal late, they WONT go after the goal that will end the game, they just play straight up D. they will always do that. and that whole loss was Brodeur's fault. We should go with clemmenson, but that'll never happen.

For whatever reason, the Hurricanes have stolen a few games from the Devils, even going back to game 2 of the 06 season. The Hurricanes are very adept at winning games they were on the verge of losing in the last minute (especially against New Jersey).

Devils fans, if you wanna blame somebody for this loss, blame Brodeur. The Ruutu and Staal goal, he should've blocked easily. That's why I would've gone with Clemmenson. He did 100 times better job than Brodeur did.

Clemmenson should be the starting goaltender for the Devils next year and Kevin Weekes the backup, I think that Brodeur although he is a great goalie may be a little too old.

If you think that Brodeur is overrated, a goalie with 3 Stanley Cups, probably the main reason why they won all 3 of them, and the all time winningest goalie, then you don't know hockey. Brodeur has always been snakebitten by 2 teams, the Penguins and the Canes. The Canes got the best of Marty again, but that doesn't make him overrated.

I know the Hurricanes get shunned by the national media, even when they are in the playoffs, but as far as the NHL in general goes, there is no other sport in the nation that showcases the best talent in the world. Yes, there are major leagues in Europe, and during the cold war the USSR had a case, but here and today in the US there is no other professional sports league that can say they are THE showcase for a truly international talent-pool like the NHL.
