  • This is one of the most wonderful things I've ever seen on movie - always loving this, again and again.

  • Anyone think the Nostalgia Critic will watch this after having watched The Cell?

  • now this is cinematography

  • Superb opening sequence to one mazing movie. his piece of art deserved much more maketing than it got. If you never saw 'the Fall', buy or rent a copy. You won't regret it. It's a gem of cinema craftanship and it propagates positive messages. In short, it's a proof that humanity is still capable of greatness.

  • Truly a diamond among the rocks, this film--a genuine piece of art.

  • gives me chills down my spine, everytime I see it. I discovered The Fall this year and it's one of my most favourite movies ever

  • best move ! best picture! beautiful immagination!

  • I wouldn't want to see Immortals if it wasn't for Tarsem Singh.

  • Astonishing Film!

  • that Krishna guy really knows how to pick out music :)

  • Fuck digital.

  • the movie has any nomination or prize oscar??

  • why we cant choose a reaction like... FANTASTIC???

    WOW!!!!

    FUCKING AMAZING!!!!

  • Little Miss Sunshine got a Best Picture nomination at the Oscars, and THIS didn't?!

  • This opening sequence alone deserved the Oscar for Best Picture of the millennium.

  • looks like an artsy fartsy movie, is it any good? i don't really care about animal rescue

  • @dirty7black7boy7 has nothing to do with animal rescue. How the fuck are you calling something artsy fartsy when you brag about listening to beethoven since you were four. let me tell you something, beethoven is about as artsy fartsy as it gets. culture yourself a little more, because just as film is an art form, so is music, and by that token, so is beethoven. just don't even watch the movie

  • @theRADteepee Holy shit, YOU MAD BRAH? CALM OWN BRAH, IT'S JUST A MOOVY BRAH, LOOOOOOOOOOOL.

  • @dirty7black7boy7 OH FUCK MY BAD!

  • This is one of those movies that transcends filmmaking to become a work of art. Every shot, image, sound, & movement is so lovingly crafted that it is like looking at a moving painting. The visuals & sounds & emotions are manipulated so perfectly that you forget you are watching a movie & are transported to another world. You know you've made something special if David Fincher endorses your film. In the future if aliens want to know what made us special all they have to do is watch this film.

  • Vitaliy Zavadskyy favorited this video :)

  • beethoven and these incredible pictures. stunning. *clicks "repeat" *

  • The music was what made this happen, as well as the directing, who thought a rescue could look so good.

  • is that just a movie ı am not a human

  • Great Movie. Should've gotten a lot more recognition.

  • The Fall and The Assassination of Jesse James... two movies I could look at all day.

  • Seems like this horse is already dead...

  • every second,a every frame of this opening clip is a postcard, with Beethoven.

  • breathtaking!

  • looks really cool

  • This scene always gives me shivers.

  • too beautiful

  • just watched this movie , the colors used in the films are just WOW

  • simply breathtaking...i just bought the blu-ray

  • Comment removed

  • beautiful

  • Best cinematography I´ve seen in a movie. Although the intro is in black and white, the use of colours during the film is astonishing.

  • I usually hate opening sequences, but I can't get enough of this... <3 <3 <3

  • senza ombra di dubbio uno dei film più belli che abbia mai visto. ora mi manca solo l'originale.

  • wich one you think is better? this one or lars von trier's opening scene from Antichrist?

  • @luisvelascoSSS

    the fall

  • I would give my left nut to be able to shoot something as stunning as that.

  • You seeall those mysterious things in the opening scenes and wonder what they mean and then, watching it the second time after seeing the movie, you're like "ah".. This movie is thrilling and beautiful. Watch it if you have the opportunity!

  • I just don't know why but Black-White Movies in HD Look Really good.. Better than Colored one's..

  • Simply the best opening scene EVER

  • Simply the best opening scene EVER

  • I love this.

  • Gaspar Noe used the same music for the trailer of Irreversible....and is amazing too

  • @luisvelascoSSS he used it for the closure of the movie. in a very nice way indeed.

  • @mina75 yeah....you're right

  • Easily, one of the greatest movies of all-time. Easy!

  • absolutely incredible scene.

  • best film of all time

  • Ahh :) This would have to be my absolute favourite movie. It's just breathtaking. Thanks for uploading the opening :)

  • Was the horse hit by the train or something?

  • No, it died in a fateful stunt while shooting some silent film. The stunt would have been about the stuntman jumping off of the bridge onto the horse, but it went wrong, the horse died and them man gor paralysed and bedridden. The movie itself begins quite after this opening, we meet the man in the hospital.

My fave film ever, go and check it out, it simply is perfect.

  • The horse was part of a stunt where a man jumped off the bridge in order to impress the lead actress in the film they were shooting. Said actress is his ex-girlfriend who left him for the lead actor.

  • This music makes every scene perfect. Btw after this movie, everybody started using this symphony :P

  • This movie is is fucking amazing.

  • @MuramasaMike

Baring in mind the style of the film, your comment was probably the most inappropriately appropriate comment out there! :D Epic film.

  • @MuramasaMike

To better express my Complete & Utter aggrement to what you just said....I fucking agree

  • I F#@!@# LOVE THIS OPENING SOUND!!!!

  • I never thought a rescue could be so beautiful. O_o

  • I'll bet if you shot a film of a man stomping on bunnies like this it would be amazing too =P

  • ........and showing only the blood in bright red color while keeping the rest of the film in black and white. It would be awesome. XD

  • @nikred all rescues are beautiful

  • If you buy just one Blu Ray movie in your life, this is it. And if yo utruly want to enjoy this movie, go for Blu Ray... unless you got a digital projection cinema screening this. Amazing movie.

  • Great movie! Watched it yesterday. Is now on my top 5 list! Right after Dogville!

  • Great opening I just didn't want it to end.

  • One of the best films ever! It's a perfect piece of movie making. Totally love it.

It is a scandal that it was so badly overlooked but at least it's become a cult!

    Googly, googly, googly xxx

  • This movie shows what film making is all about.

  • This movie is lovely.

  • googly googly googly

  • I love this movie

  • Thanks for the upload dude, excellent quality for the best opening I ever seen.

  • Most beautiful movie I've ever seen.

  • this is one of the best part of the movie. and the selection for music? genius.

  • Muy buena la fotografia de esta película.

  • This movie is absolutiely gorgeous.

  • this is my favorite opening to a film ever. tranquility out of chaos.

  • Beautiful, but just so you know, Fincher and Jonze only put their name on the movie to help it get distributed, they didn't actually participate in the production.

  • Uh yeah... that's why they're not listed as producers. Where did I say they did?

  • Inferred from the description, "This is what happens when you get David Fincher, Spike Jonze, and Tarsem Singh on one film."

  • You misinterpreted then, because even though they didn't do any actual production on it, it's still what you get when you put them all together.

  • @BlownMacTruck It's alright to be wrong sometimes. Accept and move on.

  • @SindhiMafia I'm fine with being wrong. I like being corrected, as it increases my knowledge on something I clearly am lacking in. However in this case, as was stated over and over and is obvious to anyone with a tiny bit of brain power, that I'm not wrong. You just read it incorrectly. Good job on making yourself look incompetent.

  • @BlownMacTruck to clear things up (from someone who has worked in filming) when you say "on a film" it generally implies "a contributing party to the creation of". Guys like Spielberg will often lend their name to a film they had NOTHING to do with just as a means of boosting publicity (as you mentioned). The addition of two names in the credits contributed nothing artistically or technically to the film. A bit of clarification was just needed. So yeah, everyone play nice & enjoy the film : )

  • @naughtypandafilms good for you. you've dragged this through even more goddamn pedantics. i'm done talking about this - deleting and banning all you idiots.

  • You are not alone in "misinterpreting" it, haha. But do those tiny details REALLY matter? Just enjoy the eye candy and thank god that there are still some people in the world dedicated to making something beautiful just 'cause.

  • @patencio It's still what you get! Agreed re: Beethoven + B/W. This is a cinematic masterpiece.

  • @patencio That doesn't mean they didn't support it in other ways; this movie filmed in 25 countries and they NEVER would have been able to do that if both of them hadn't considered it necessary after reading the script. It shows that they had a lot of respect for Tarsem Singh, and were willing to put their reputations out there despite The Cell having been such a flop.

  • Amazing movie!

  • Muy buena movie...
