Superb opening sequence to one mazing movie. his piece of art deserved much more maketing than it got. If you never saw 'the Fall', buy or rent a copy. You won't regret it. It's a gem of cinema craftanship and it propagates positive messages. In short, it's a proof that humanity is still capable of greatness.
@dirty7black7boy7 has nothing to do with animal rescue. How the fuck are you calling something artsy fartsy when you brag about listening to beethoven since you were four. let me tell you something, beethoven is about as artsy fartsy as it gets. culture yourself a little more, because just as film is an art form, so is music, and by that token, so is beethoven. just don't even watch the movie
This is one of those movies that transcends filmmaking to become a work of art. Every shot, image, sound, & movement is so lovingly crafted that it is like looking at a moving painting. The visuals & sounds & emotions are manipulated so perfectly that you forget you are watching a movie & are transported to another world. You know you've made something special if David Fincher endorses your film. In the future if aliens want to know what made us special all they have to do is watch this film.
You seeall those mysterious things in the opening scenes and wonder what they mean and then, watching it the second time after seeing the movie, you're like "ah".. This movie is thrilling and beautiful. Watch it if you have the opportunity!
No, it died in a fateful stunt while shooting some silent film. The stunt would have been about the stuntman jumping off of the bridge onto the horse, but it went wrong, the horse died and them man gor paralysed and bedridden. The movie itself begins quite after this opening, we meet the man in the hospital.
My fave film ever, go and check it out, it simply is perfect.
The horse was part of a stunt where a man jumped off the bridge in order to impress the lead actress in the film they were shooting. Said actress is his ex-girlfriend who left him for the lead actor.
If you buy just one Blu Ray movie in your life, this is it. And if yo utruly want to enjoy this movie, go for Blu Ray... unless you got a digital projection cinema screening this. Amazing movie.
Beautiful, but just so you know, Fincher and Jonze only put their name on the movie to help it get distributed, they didn't actually participate in the production.
@SindhiMafia I'm fine with being wrong. I like being corrected, as it increases my knowledge on something I clearly am lacking in. However in this case, as was stated over and over and is obvious to anyone with a tiny bit of brain power, that I'm not wrong. You just read it incorrectly. Good job on making yourself look incompetent.
@BlownMacTruck to clear things up (from someone who has worked in filming) when you say "on a film" it generally implies "a contributing party to the creation of". Guys like Spielberg will often lend their name to a film they had NOTHING to do with just as a means of boosting publicity (as you mentioned). The addition of two names in the credits contributed nothing artistically or technically to the film. A bit of clarification was just needed. So yeah, everyone play nice & enjoy the film : )
@naughtypandafilms good for you. you've dragged this through even more goddamn pedantics. i'm done talking about this - deleting and banning all you idiots.
You are not alone in "misinterpreting" it, haha. But do those tiny details REALLY matter? Just enjoy the eye candy and thank god that there are still some people in the world dedicated to making something beautiful just 'cause.
@patencio That doesn't mean they didn't support it in other ways; this movie filmed in 25 countries and they NEVER would have been able to do that if both of them hadn't considered it necessary after reading the script. It shows that they had a lot of respect for Tarsem Singh, and were willing to put their reputations out there despite The Cell having been such a flop.
This is one of the most wonderful things I've ever seen on movie - always loving this, again and again.

Inferred from the description, "This is what happens when you get David Fincher, Spike Jonze, and Tarsem Singh on one film."

You misinterpreted then, because even though they didn't do any actual production on it, it's still what you get when you put them all together.
