lol armanian caucasian shepard, haha, theres no such a thing its like saying japanese american muscle. Its eaither japaneese or americsn just like the caucasian shepard is from cavkas Russia, the only reson its called caucasian is because americans cant spell or say kavkaskaya ovcharka right.
@SnowBroProductions Armenia is in Caucasia though, Georgia, Dagestan, Armenia, Chechnya and many more nations are Caucasian. Kavkas (Caucasia) is the point where all those nations meet. Soo what you said doesn't make sense. I know because I am Armenian/Russian, and I have been to both places to visit family many many times.
@ownzasoris I know what Cacusus is, I was talking about the breeds FULL name. The Full name is "Russian kavkaskaya Ovcharka" If the word "Russian" is in the name that means its Russian. Look it up, its a Russian breed and the only name of the dog that has any country name part of its name is Russia. You wont find any name with any other country in it but Russia.
@SnowBroProductions Russian kavkaskaya Ocharka? Now that doesn't make sense, Russia isn't in Caucasia. The dog is actually a Georgian Mountain Shepard, hence the Kavkaskaya ocharka.
@ownzasoris lol, you're kidding right! Russia takes up more of kavkas then any other country. I thought you said you were half Russian, you sound too stupid to be Russian. oh and yes once again LOOK IT UP! maybe you're learn something, lol
@SnowBroProductions lol? Go google Kavkaz right now. Go to images, or whatever you want because it doesn't matter either way you'll see the countries in Kavkas. Don't call me stupid when you're being the dumb one. I say facts that I've seen and heard about, things from family that I visit at least once a year. I have no idea what you're sources are, but it doesn't matter because you're pretty much wrong on everything you've said.
you dont know anything, their ears were cut when they were originally guarding sheeps, to protect them from wolves, they got their ears cut so that wolves couldnt bite on them(CO has big fur which protects it from biting as you know)
so full ears are not a fault now, and besides its not upto you to say whether they look stupid or not
suck my balls idiot... you live somewhere where this dogs ar like nerds, come to big russian and east europ countrys where are snowing and thous dogs are like monsters.. Befor my best friend (dog) died eaven my father (power lifting master) can't hold our monster, he was huge and poferful and yes with cuted ears for best fighting and look... so dont give a S H I T
Ear cropping is a traditional act for dog breeds like the Caucasian Ovcharka, after all, this dog is a livestock guardian, it is not a poodle or some little human toy.
For years and years they have been getting their ears cropped for working & safety purposes. Having cropped ears means that these dogs don't have to worry about a predator biting or holding onto their ear, which can cause severe damage.
@WildB0i Does that hurt the dog or is it painless? Is it better done as a puppy? If it's for safety I may have it done to my Alsations, I have them trained as guard dogs for the quarry I live on.
If the dog is anesthetized the procedure is not painful although the recovery is always painful.
Besides, the dogs look way better and natural with their nice floppy ears. hacking the ears off makes them look grotesque IMO.
I know traditionally it was done when these dogs were guarding livestock against predators. A cropped ear mans less to grab on to but face the facts, how many of these dogs are guarding livestock these days and how many wold ever see a wolf... LOL.
@Lagolop "but face the facts, how many of these dogs are guarding livestock these days and how many wold ever see a wolf... LOL." -- Ah well .. Then I'm assuming you have no travel experience to such areas, or live near any of the respective areas where these dogs are put to such utility, by any chance? You would be surprised as to how much activity there is these days.
Can someone help me find and purchase one of these breeds of puppy ? In desperate need. Thanks

@dtkpff - The ears are cropped whilst a young puppy, or asap. I'm not sure how they do it and whether or not how it is painful for them.
WildB0i 1 year ago
@WildB0i Thanks mate, i'll look into it.

@WildB0i
Of course it is painful. Cut a piece of your own ear off and see.
Lagolop 1 year ago
@Lagolop It depends on the process of cutting the ear, thanks.
