ElCriticon is an idiot. This was a killer show. Granted there were a few cars that were not to my liking but the show rocked. As did the whole weekend.

The Shifters did a great job last year and the plan to emphasize quality over quantity will continue and get even better. Granted there were a handful of shitpiles like this diesel nonsense unrealistic machine, but as i understand it, things like this will be something of the past.
I went to this and couldn't decide if this was a car show or looking at remnants from a previous crash-up derby. Plainly put...what a way to fuck up a bunch of classic cars. What's funnier is to see how much of those butchered heaps break down along the I-15 going to and leaving the event. The owners ought to have the tow trucks just take the heaps to the wrecking yard and let the crusher finish the job. Theses cars really ought to be part of the side show at Circus Circus. What a laugh!
you say butcher, others say customize. and if anything, a lot of these cars were saved by these guys cause if it weren't for them, they'd probably be rotting away somewhere in a field then being driven away. just because you can't appreciate something doesn't mean you have to dump on it, it's guys like you that give freedom of speech a bad name. just let people have fun and enjoy life instead of trying to make people to fit in your little box.
And then on the other hand...in a lot of cases...I have seen perfectly good classic cars fucked up by guys that don't know what the hell they are doing. Then, try to sell their butchered heap after the fact. Many of these cars are done half-ass and look it as well.
@downtown65 It doesn't matter what your taste is, how can you not love the sound of a v8? And the diesle, the sound that rocket made, wow! I like 'em whether they're hotrods or ratrods. Would love to see more old jeeps at the shows though. I really love the old jeeps and see what you can do with them!
@Gsnickets I turned a fucked up rockabilly rat rod back into a classic work of art. This guy should have been sited for air pullution, not just for the smoke he was pouring out, but also that hidious Munsters-wannabe piece of crap.
@ElCriticon82 hmmmm..... my 9 inch chopped '60 ranchero just got a 6to1 open header on it today.... thank god I don't get emissions tested, because I love the new noise pollution.
@Gsnickets Wow...I guess anything done to what is basically a Ford Falcon truck is an improvement. To me, a rat rod is nothing more than one step from becoming a scrap pile at the wrecking yard. The only thing is that it's actually running, somewhat. It's funny to see how many of those are seen broken down along the 15 to and from Vegas. LOL! Understand, though, that too much of that noise pollution and smoke could get you a fine, if someone reports you.

Others see them the way an artist sees a canvas. The car becomes their media to show others what they want their car to be like.
I am not saying car customizers are on a plane with Rembrandt, but the car is their tool and it is their expression.

Some folks decorate their shirt or shoes, these folks decorate their cars.
