The best song for a long drive on a beautiful country road!!
So remember this driving down Highway 1 on California Coast and reflecting on my 10 year marriage that came to an end when my husband walked out-this song moved me to tears, man it was bittersweet yet beautiful..
IIRC, Paul Jackson Jr. was on bass, Abe Laboriel Jr. was on drums and the great Joe Sample was on keys backing Herb up, with Andy and Randy and some 'friends' on the "background vocal effects." I wore this damn album OUT when I had it! Thanks for posting this track...especially the long version of it!
The song Rise was also the background song for the PGA durring the 70's.
My grand father was a big golfer and when the golf tornaments were on I remember this song playing. I didn't know till today who was behind this great song.
BONUS:for u all u trivia buffs out there, RISE was the intstrumental hit from 1979 that Luke raped Laura too on the CAMPUS DISCO dance floor on General Hospital!! The song immediately became a #1 hit on the Billboard charts!! I was just watching that episode earlier...u can find that episode on youtube!! This is one of my all-time fave songs!!
I imagine being in a large dark living room with the breeze blowing through the balcony on a hot summer night. Drunk, wearing a sexy dress and slowly swaying my body to this. Hahah that's what comes to mind.
this song is what made me want to play trumpet but besides that a perfect song if u will great melody great intro great build in intro great delivery even the ending was great just one of the greatest songs ever tTHATS why it was sampled for Hypnotize

Listening to this song, just chilling to some good music. And then I hear Biggie's "Hypnotize" and I'm like "AWWWWW SNAAP!"

This song has been in my head since 1982 or 1983. It was played by a couple every time they would put on a magic show at my elementary school.

but was that rape? It started out as Laura saying "Don't" to Luke, then she ended up saying "don't stop"
I will have to find that episode and watch it again.
