  • It's less the "extra hopped", more the "troops in India" that is a myth: the troops were drinking porter, mostly. Which also survived the journey to India without being "extra hopped", incidentally.

  • Excellent - great to see hop-growing return to Ireland. Pity Cuilan repeats the old myth about IPA being "extra-hopped for the troops in India" - not so.

  • @zythophile Well I disagree, the originals were indeed extra hopped for the trip to India but the myth is more about whether they needed to be or not as other later beers survived the journey without extra hopping!
