  • It is very possible that after years of listening to music that this song is on one of the best three albums ever made.

  • Elton in the seventies. Wild, excessive, confused, brilliant. Elton today. A complete bore. Who in their right mind would ever buy let alone listen to his current music.

  • @miabarry His last album, The Union, is brilliant. Just different, less flamboyant and vibrant, which fits in well with his age and voice.

  • @motherocean First album I was listening when I was 11 years. I "stole" it to my brother who was 16 years. Elton John has really changed my musical conception. I seriously think that JS Bach who i adore, would jalouse Elton. Do you see what I mean ? Long life to Elton!

  • I STILL have my copy of Yellow Brick Road. I think I can still still every song on that album without the lyrics in front of me. Though it has'nt been played in a very long time, I think I'll get it out and give it a spin. I love the sound of the old 33's

  • This song could easily been a big hit but Elton John's record company thought it would be released to close to the album he made after Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.

  • still considered the best album of the 70's except for maybe Ziggy Stardust

  • I've been looking for this on vinyl at my local record store, the CD blew me away, but I am sure the vinyl will take me to another place.

  • @1973ziggystardust Does music sound different on vinyl? I know a lot of music lovers enjoy vinyl but I thought it was more of a nostalgic kind of thing but is it because its better quality?

  • @TheYogiBunnie Yes, music sounds very different on vinyl, it isn't as filtered or remastered like CD's. It is full of raw sound, and the little cracks you hear when the record plays, makes the sound even more special. Some music lovers do enjoy vinyl for the nostalgia, but I am one who likes the sound and the nostalgia. Its like a buy one get one free deal, you get raw music, and nostalgia all in one! I highly suggest listening to a rock record one day, you won't regret it!

  • @1973ziggystardust Oh Lord Amen! Thank God I'm not alone as an old analog freak. Digital just can't compare to the warmth of a good vinyl LP. All of that digital clearity looses something in that old "fuzzy" warmth of a vinyl LP on a good analog set up. ;). Maybe I sound absurd, but it's a bit like the difference between satin sheets and an old good set of flannels. What's a one night thrill vs a long cozzy winter in comfort? Call me crazy, but some of you know the difference. ;)

  • @MrAmberRocker I know exactly what you are talking about, nothing can beat vinyl, in my opinion. It makes everything become real, and the flaws become masterpieces. I am still looking for this record, and when I find it, I am going to play the heck out of it!

  • @1973ziggystardust JUST FOR THE RECORD(NO PUNT) SOURCE TAPE IS IN FACT WHAT VINYL WAS RECORDED OFF,SO THE BEST OF ALL WAS JUST THAT.THE ONLY THING ABOUT THAT WAS REEL 2 REEL WAS TOO COSTLY..BUT FOR THOSE WHO COULD AFFORD AND INVESTED INTO IT WILL SWEAR TO THE CLEARITY AS LIKE BEING RIGHT THERE IN THE STUDIO....BUT I AS WELL MISS VINYL AND HAD OVER 2500 ALBUMS AT ONE TIME(LONG AGO)...I HEAR THEY ARE TRYING TO BRING IT BACK..ROCKER

  • @361rocker Thank you for that interesting fact! I knew that reel to reel was used somehow, but I wasn't exactly clear how! I hope I one day have 2500 records as well!

  • @MrAmberRocker ...im selling all my dads vinyl LP'S from the 70's and 80"s....let me know if you wanna buy.

  • @alexaddicted2 well yeah i have 3000 records and how does the saying go I am only 29? where are you from I live in Mississippi.

  • @jason13204 .....i live in Los Angeles California

  • I have been a fan ever since Rocket MAN and saw him live at Earls Court in the 70s and Wembley in the 90s. Terrific live performances from EJ and all his bandmates. With Bernie's lyrics he can put together a song in no time at all. A musical genius !!!

  • nothing sounds like the old mixers they used... 128 track ect..sound rooms, like the big room in toronto!!...digital?..i miss analog sound, such seperation.

  • Not my favorite song off the album; with the test of time, the chorus got a little cheesy for me. But still a classic.

  • i like how his butt sticks out in this picture.....he puts it out there for us all to see and gaze at.

  • This song is terrific, and could easily have made it as a hit, along with the ones that did from this album.

  • I love this song!!!! Love this whole album! just awesome! His piano is SO powerful in all of his songs!

  • thanks for playing this in Bakersfield Elton, you very rarely play it live......you played all my favorites that night......you are without doubt the best entertainer of the last 100 years.

  • This is CLASSIC Elton John! Beautiful!

  • this song used to get me hot, I've no idea why ;D

  • The memories of excellence in music.....

  • a very sensual album. remember how hard it was for me to grasp his coming out of the closet.

  • I totally wore out the vinyl of YBR I bought when it was fresh. It's still so good--it's still fresh!

  • Music as all art is in the senses of the beholder. But to me this is the Greatest

Moment caught in the annals ( can I say that word ). Of Pop Music.

  • the Super Seventies !!

  • Never again will there ever be a team of Elton and Bernie - This album ended the amazing music soundtrack - there may have been runner ups, but never have any come close...

  • @er6789er A musical match made in Heaven :)

  • This song has always been a favourite. Nice work!

  • Elton John & Bernie Taupin were a Musical Team Made in Heaven. Each song is Poetry to my ears.

  • Wow! I wish music like this was out there for my generation. I feel cheated dammit!! Lol Oh well, i'll just keep going to Elton concerts and enjoy it live =))

  • @themaxamillion16 You have been cheated, so go get yourself a turn table, and visit garage sales and buy the most awesome vinyl out there, sit back, light some candles, and listen to the best music ever made.

  • Fantastic.........

  • Indeed. Best record ever.

  • Do they even turn out pop music this damned good anymore???

  • @Reactiv12 Nope, not even close!!

  • @Reactiv12

    No, they don't

  • hello baby hello best part of the song

  • sweet harmony, nicely layered stringsalso

  • Harmony and me

    We're pretty good company

  • Song itself: 10 out of 10

    Lyrics: 10 out of 10

    Vocal: 10 out of 10

harmonies from band members: 10 out of 10

Dee, Nigel and Davey's instrumental playing(helping to create the perfect "feel" to this song): 10 out of 10. For me, this is the absolute perfect song. One of my all-time favourites(maybe my favourite).

  • best of it is ...say Hello say hello Say Helloooooo...Harmony..simple but great message ...just saying Hello could you get you in troubels no aredays ...but i'm keep saying Hello..thanks Elton

  • I love this song, but I remember being 13, having grown up in the Southern US and not being able to understand why he was so passionate about hominy.

  • @jasyreta OK, thats funny right there...

  • i ve been listening to this album since it came out matter of fact i traded a swithblade knife a friend had for it i to was a freshman in high school one of his best albums IMHO

  • If it was suck a waist, I'd like to have one tenth of the money he's made.

  • One of Sir Elton's best songs, quite possibly one of the best tracks on "Goodbye, Yellow Brick Road," which came out when I was a high-school freshman. Don't know why "Harmony" wasn't a significant hit. It moved me more than the other GYBR tracks when I heard them over the radio in 1974-75:) --

  • I agree with you, man.

  • Thanks, buddy:) --

  • Man does this take me back,,back to the days when Elton was cool,,and talented,, now he is well,, just on fire.. flaming.

  • The music, lyrics, melody...is all awesome. But Elton's voice sounds so good. And That is what makes this song...and many of his great songs of the 70's(and 80's) so amazingly good. Magical.

  • I remember this album so well and i was only 8 when it was released. My GOD has it been that long?? Elton and Bernie were completely dialed in with this.

  • the best LP ever.

  • @whowweeemandude40 It suuuuuuure is!!!

  • @whowweeemandude40 Yes the best album ever!

  • t balls

  • First album I ever bought! Loved this album. I still have it too!

  • LOVE THIS SONG. Are you the same spoiled child...

  • Best.

  • whew.

  • Harmony is actually the last track on the

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album, not

    a bonus track.

  • That telling you what album! Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (Bonus Track) 1973

  • last track on the CD, Bonus on Vinyl

  • This album was released in 2 different versions. 1rst version this song was a bonus track
