  • I'm enjoying your videos - they're making so much sense to me. Love your 'individualised holistic approach' - wish there were more like you. Thank you..

  • I don't buy anything this guy says.

  • @atheismrocks71

YOu don't have to! I am not selling anything, i am just educating you on the body works! If you can't get that, well it is up to you to learn about the body and not just supps!

  • right on. add to your points a few other points. synthetic d(3) suppresses the immune system. not good. as for the reason for low vit d blood levels, check for l-form bacteria, they derange the bodies' vit d pathways. synthetic vitamin d is a scam to be avoided.

  • No offense but you don't know what you are talking about.

  • @ThinkerMister11

No offense, but i do! Why don't you explain to me and others why you think this instead of just saying it or why don't you have a youtube channel, radio show, etc to explain this?

  • @ThinkerMister11 not only doesn't he know what he's talking about, he's also fat. Clearly he doesn't take his own advice which is wrong anyway.

  • Americans are more deficent than ever because we are spending less time in the sun and with the use of suncreen ours bodies cant absorb the d from the sun. Please do your research before you make a video. i had low vitamin d (10) started treatment and now i feel wonderful. Low d levels cause all sorts of problems.

  • Keep talking Josh! The world needs more people like you and less like bsumiko. It's b/c of people like them that America is in this health crisis. I have a Master's degree in both Nutrition and Exercise Physiology, and am certified in MT and FDN, and am completing Functional Medicine training, and I, like you, would NEVER want to be a dietitian. Ever.

  • Do you ever stop talking???? Are you a nutritional biochemist? Are you a dietitian? I find it amusing that a physical therapist has so much to say about nutrition. Typical know-it all who knows nothing at all.

BTW dingbat, ricketts (vitamin D deficieny disease) was RAMPANT in Europe in the 1800's, when people used to get outside a lot and they ate fresh foods. Many people in cold climates will not get enough sunlight unless you're dumb enough to get naked in 20 degree weather.

  • @bsumiko

First I don't ever stop talking! If you have so many good things to say how come you don't have a youtube page, how come you don't travel the world to teach this shit and get paid for it?????

Second, am I dietician...NO and I never would fucking want to be. A dietician is someone that has gone to school and paid shit loads of money to learn absolutely nothing about health and life. They learn how to write diets that kill people based off the food pyramid.

  • @bsumiko

As well, dieticians are the only ones that can talk about food, etc. Do you even know my full background and what I do, etc?

You find it amusing...GREAT! I am here to disturb the comfortable...like you! So I am doing my job and getting my points across. Again, I do have a lot to say...lets here what you have to say...oh nothing! thanks for tuning in!

  • @bsumiko if you didn't want to hear what he had to say, then why are you viewing his videos?

  • @pinkcrystalS2

    AGREE!

  • @bsumiko listen, your need to trash Joshua in this manner shows that you have some issues, what those are, lets not talk about that. But, let me say that I personally have talked and TAUGHT dietitians AND special doctors they are called here in Denmark, a pathologist (do you know what that is :) how to eat, even what tests to run in the labs, and my background = Personal trainer and Holistic lifestyle coach, there are what.. 10 trilllion checial procceses going on every secund in our body's, and

  • @bsumiko all of these porccesses can proccess in different ways, and MULTIPLE factors can affects these proccesses, lets just use a small number like 10.000, now how many combinations does that leave you with? SO, "dingbat", do you think that studiyng biochemistry for 8 years or even 800 years, would makes any of us come close to "knowing it all", the middle way here is the answer, knowing the basics and then some, and then knowing a little about alot, to me this often seems to be the answer.

  • @bsumiko Docotors and dietitians often makes people WORSE, this does not go for peole like Josh it seems to me. And if you are causasian, you only need 15-20 minutes of sunlight to get your vitamin D covered you IGNORANT.

  • the majority of people who take vitamin d supplements, blood levels of vitamin d go up substantially after 3 months. and if you do live in an environment where you get very little sunlight year round, (as in Canada) these supplements are necessary! You cannot go outside in the winter in nothing but shorts and sit infront of the sun to get your vitamin d, it just doesn't work that way!

  • When it comes to vitamin d, if you live in a northern environment where you do not get very much sunlight throughout the year, that is a MAJOR cause of vitamin d deficiency, vitamin d supplements are great. VERY few foods provide vitamin d, only liver, fish, eggs have some vitamin d. Wearing things like sunscreen also reduce absorption of vitamin d thru the skin. Very rarely do you ever see it being an issue with liver and not being able to absorb the vitamin d. The majority of people

  • Now to your point, vitamin D may not necessarily rectify the cause of an auto-immune disease, but when someone is in this situation natural medicines can be profoundly helpful. I understand thre is much hype around vitamin D, but lets not throw the baby out with the bath water. Diet and lifestyle are of course the foundation, but not everyone is so fortunate to have walked a healthy life path their entire life.

  • In the process of convergence to a better way of living, people often need some help. Great info, keep it coming.

  • health education in capitalist countries, seem to always miss the point - they confuse, lie and scare people.. and for what ? Money, ego and self -gain

It makes me sick..that they want us to be sick.. and the big pharmas appear, bottle some nature and sell it back to us .. Nature has all the answers - trust nature not man - modern life is toxic

  • Thanks Dawg this is a real eye opener once again thanks for sharing the information with the rest of us!!!

  • Also many people eat cholesterol lowering foods &/or take statins.

UVB converts cholesterol in skin to Vitamin D3.

Lower cholesterol = lower vitamin D potentially.

That is why older people make less Vit d than younger.

Older skin thinner = less cholesterol = less vitamin d3..

  • "Urban tropospheric ozone increases the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency"

    Full text free online.

    UVB creates VITAMIN D3.

In town UVB absorbed by ozone.

    UVA degrades Vit D3.

UVA is reflected from hard surfaces

So more UVA available to degrade Vit D near skin surface.

Exposure to UVA only light, working by an office window behind glass (UVB does not penetrate glass UVA does)

  • nice video!!

  • what doesn't he like about fortified milk?

  • it has fortified vitamins in it

fortified are not real vitamins, their synthetic, which means they are fake copies of vitamins, that when ingested into your body, you body doesn't understand and eliminates. So they will just out the other end, instead of going into your bloodstream so you can get the right nutrients to improve your body and sustain your health.

  • Once again I thank you for telling it like it is....always looking deeper.....Thanks Josh for sharing all your info with us.

  • vitamin d is also made by cholesterol in your skin so if you are on statin cholesterol lowering drugs you will be VD deficient. I take daily 50 000iu vitamin d from biotech and I was cured of VD deficiency and I am feeling better

  • I'm a big believer and have been taking D for a few years. A couple of months ago I upped to 10,000iu every other day.

I thought humor was a good thing!

  • I don't know how much of a conspiracy in terms of making money off of vitamin D there possibly could be when you can buy 6 months worth for 20 bucks...

  • 20 bukcks times 500 million worldwide? ;)

  • Excellent ;D

  • "MY TOES FALLING OFF, VITIMIN D" LOL

  • Hhhmmmm...and tattoos aren't stressful, harmful, or toxic???

I can't wait for next winter when I get to see all the pale, fat guys in their undies freezing their stones off trying to get some Vitamin D!

  • shutup and go buy some vitimin D capsules

  • @mrglove1 hey we all make mistakes in our lives.. believe me, i should have eaten better and slept earlier sooner in my life,

  • What do u think about Crohn's that is in the small bowel? I am always insufficient in Vitamin D and B when my blood is tested.

  • @abrat59 Take an animal Vit D product, the veggie ones don't build up and maintain like the animal version.

  • good info josh. I just started my own organic garden.

  • Great video. I hear you on the frustrating short-sighted mentality of a lot of health practitioners. "Oh you have condition A. This study says that condition A is improved by this supplement and these studies say that condition A responds well to this supplement, take that one too!". Yeah obviously nutrition is an essential element of health maintenance and recovery but without treating the specific patient and the specific problem, results will always be marginal.

  • you can also get Vitamin D from the egg yolk, but its full with cholesterol. invent a laptop that i can see the creen while being in the sun :D

  • Considering that we can utilize something like 5000 IU of vitamin d a day, egg yolk provides downright puny vitamin d.

Also, not only does dietary cholesterol have a negligible effect on blood cholesterol, even if it did, blood cholesterol level is not in itself worrisome unless caused by a bigger problem. If you're worried about arteriosclerosis, low HDL cholesterol and high triglycerides are the more worrisome features of a blood lipid profile. Organic eggs are nothing but healthy.

  • @Melcland

The cholesterol is actually why eggs are so nutritious for you. Cholesterol is a natural antioxidant.
