hello, i'd like to buy the 960 verson but i have a question: I'll use it mainly for making onboard motorbike videos, but without going to fast (can reach 95 mph) so I ask you if I can use the camera without his waterproof cover that distort a bit the audio. I remember that I read that I can use it without cover only if not passing the 95 mph or something like that. Is it true or it's better to use anyway the cover?
@loskiff there are 2 different back covers, a completely waterproof one and a vented one, the vented one allows for better audio quality, either way you'd still be using the front cover.
people i would prefer getting the 1080p....they are making way more attatchments for it and will be worth it! they are coming out with a wifi back...they have a screen........wireless mic and battery extension the 960 cant have any of those except maybe the wireless mic
it says on GO Pro .com that it doesn't come with a memory card then how does it save video??? Please Help im planning on ordering one in a matter of hours?
@skiinANDlaxin Well for what you want to do, the 960 would be sufficient. But it really comes down to cost.. IF YOU HAVE THE EXTRA MONEY BUY THE 1080p! you will have the choice to shoot in 960 or 1080, the reason GoPro offers a 960 version is to offer a reasonably priced HD POV camera without breaking you piggy bank:)
Hey can u give me an advice. For the sport im doing should i get a 960 or 1080p Go Pro (parkour/freerunning/Gymnastics) Another question. If your editing with the 960 for slow-motion. Is it really smooth?
@dsggful it has a waterproof casing. If it is not in the case then it is not waterproof, it would get wet and break like any other camera. There is a backing that u can put on it that has holes in it so u get better sound if you are not going to be totally submerged or its raining. It also comes with a full backing with no holes for full waterproofing. It can go 160 2 180 ft underwater. Personally im a skier so that part doesnt matter to me. The diff between the heros is the quality 960 p 2 1080
@skater862053 The Hero has a port on the back of the camera that will allow you to attach a LCD BAC PAC or a Battery BAC PAC. The 960 is a more affordable option if 960 suits most of your activities.
For Skateboarding and BMX you should be good with the 960. It shoots the highest vertical shot and with the two sports of your choice you should be happy with it!
I can't decide wich one i should buy, GoPro hero 960HD ( $179,99) or GoPro hero HD naked ($259,99) that one can film in 1080p, but is it worth the $80 more??? I mostly use it for rc drifting and riding my moped
@TF0X58 Well it's really up to you. If you get the 960 it's going to cost you less. But the down side is thats your only option. If you get the 1080 you have the option of capturing a much wider shot. U may want that when your quading.. But from the sounds of what you will be doing, you should be good to go with the 960.
@PointOfViewCameras The HD Hero 1080 and 960 shoot in the same angle...The only difference is the 1080 shoots 720p@60fps, 1080p (127 degrees angle), and has a BUS port.
@MBRatajczyk It's a little Quick-Release/Vibration Plug. In other words, less vibration for very bumpy rides and stopes the camera for a possible release if the housing was really throttled.
@Jon95McC Well 960 is more a vertical shot, that is usually the angle you want when snowboarding in order to catch the snow to sky angle. They both have the fish eye look.
@OffroadBeaver U can use either one. There are many different editing platforms for both computers, just depends how technical you want to get with it.
@jeeeerpa Without a doubt! I think it would be perfect for longboarding.. you need that tall 960 frame for that. Plus you could use a monopod with the tripod adapter like the X Shot.
Check our other vid: Drift Sound And Picture Demo to get a idea of the mono pod.. but it's 720 footage.
@yamaha1051 it depends on what you want to do with it.
The GOPRO is going to have a LCD screen that you can snap on the back, so if that or the extra battery pac is not something that you think you will want at any time then you are all good!
Not sure i understand the question? The basic features on the GOPRO is the shutter button on the top to start filming and under the LCD is the Power/Mode button to turn it on or off and to go through the different modes.. thats it! So when you start shooting you should hear on beep, when you press the shutter button again to stop shooting, you should hear three beeps.
GOPRO, Contour and Drift are our top cameras for your kind of sport.
Contours great for side of the helmet, very sleek. GOPRO has a very cool chesty for the lower POV of the hands on the wheel view. Drift has a built in monitor and a remote to activate it! All good cams, just depends on what suits you!
hi guys i was woundering if it is possible 2 convert the footage into 16:9 as i am a dowhill longboarder and like widescreen please get back 2 me asap
@EpikCupcake It's always best to use a reader regardless. It always works and helps avoid possible problems such as plugging the usb into your computer and shorting out the device ruining it and most likely the info on the card. Spend 10 dollars on a reader and never connect a device directly again and take risks like that. Good luck!
@shazzbazz740 You are absolutely correct. For those of you wanting the cheapest GoPro HD that does 60 FPS at higher resolutions, go with the GoPro Naked: pointofviewcameras[dot com]/gopro-hd-hero-naked.html
@PorcupinePower Yes, no problem. You can simply take out the memory card and use any memory card reader to transfer video files. We sell the readers for under $10
@PorcupinePower - it attaches using the 3M sticky pads that adhere the mounting plate to the helmet. On the base of the helmet mount, there is a slide on system that fits with the adhesive base.
@ekidnaoz - well, at 960p you are looking at 1280x960 and at 720p - 1280x720. The frame will be a little higher in 960, but the video will not be square as in SD.
Like the price and no 1080 is cool, but 720 at both 30 and 60 would have been a plus. Don't care for 4:3 960i.
In fact, only having 720 as the only option would be better. I really like the new "one button mode" (aka moron mode) as it avoids hitting the wrong button and changing modes. When the camera is mounted on a helmet, hitting the wrong button as you're groping for the camera is a real possibility. So fewer choices is a plus if they're the right choices, IMHO.
@dahveed284 - Totally hear that.. but this is a great camera option for surfers, paddle boarders, kite boarders etc, because of the higher frame it captures more of the vertical, not cutting off the head or feet. I agree, 720p would have been nice at 30 and 60, but it is still a great product :)

@TomiVichrak Well it wont be as smooth as 60fps with the HERO. But for the price difference you would have to weigh it out.
