Dylan was an amateur in comparison - IMO. They lived in Different Times & they are Very Different People! But they were both Out-there somewhere Nobody Else was at those points in Time.. I Loved the one concert I saw of Rodriguez. Playing the just released Cold Fact Album. Him on a chair Middle Stage & a backing Violinist, that's All He Needed to perform it to perfection! Except when he Pull the Lead out of his guitar `n couldn't work out where the sound went?? ha, ha.. A Roadie Plugged it in :)

Rodriguez came to Pentridge prison Melbourne Australia about 1979-80, and he was brought by Lee Cooper from the music TV show called Night Moves. Apparently he visited lots of prisons, as is suggested by David Allan Coe in his song Longhaired Redneck:

"...Johnny Cash helped me get outa prison. Long before Rodriguez stole that goat...".

He spoke english well, and liked chatting with the crims. He gave away a whole pile of signed albums. Good bloke.

Cold Fact was my dead husbands fave album and I liked it too but was going to the Concert in Adelaide in April more for nostalgic reasons. But I have since been playing the album a lot and even bought a new copy with all the updated info on him in a 32 page booklet. The songs were credited to Jesus Rodriguez, his brother, on the original album, to avoid contractual issues. This guy is SOOOOO good.
