  • Good thing you can still get new Betamax tapes.

  • You what? If you put those tapes into VHS cassettes, they would be recordable, just only if you splice a clear leader tape in to the lead.

    Filmed on Beta? Or VHS-C?

  • Wow that is alot of VideoTape.

  • The time stamp says SEP . 10 1989

  • Strangely, I heard that Scotch tapes don't last too long in Taiwan. Maybe it's the climate problem?

  • Was this really from 1986 or was it 1989? Its just that at the start, it says on the camera "September 1989".

  • Whenever I see some blank Beta tapes (Brand new) at Goodwill or wherever, I grab them all! They may not be used at once, but its nice to have them if I have no spare VHS tape, or the DVD recorder farts out again.

    Great find!!!

  • Betamax was way before my time, but i got a Sanyo Betamax playerand love it, the tapes i got were from the mid 80's and still wok well. to bad I don't have a super-beta or beta hi-fi

  • So how long did it take you to go through all of these?

  • I actually split them up, gave some to friends......I think I kept 200 for myself, which probably lasted me only a year....I was blowing thru tapes really fast back then!!

  • Another great smell sensation: brand new cassettes!

Just as I liked the smell of new electronics, I like the smell of new cassettes!

  • Scotch tapes are guaranteed for life :)

  • Even 20 years after betamax became obsolete? :P

  • Maybe

  • Scotch VHS tapes have lasted me 25 years!

  • WOW! Videotape heaven! :)
