GREAT playing, I own the same bass...and I love it....glad its my 1st 6 stringer....have a 91 Fender Jazz (with kubicki circuitry) and an mid 80's Ibanez RB850 as well.....

How many basses do you have? Have you checked out the Ibanez SRA505 with the EMG pickups. That bass has a lot of clean punch.

hey dude, av bin playing 9 months now and am lookin a 6 strings, i use a 4 string dean hillsboro eric bass sig and a aria jazz bass 4 string are the 2 i use the most, do you think it would be wise to thing about making the leap to a 6 string and witch 6 strings would your sugest looking at?

I'm confused. Could somebody help me out? I am planning to get this bass, because it looks beautiful and sounds even better. I went to ibanez.com to look at all the specs for it, and I noticed that on the ibanez website, this bass has 5 knobs as well as a mid-freq switch. But on every other video and website I go to, the sr506 doesnt have that switch on it, just the 5 knobs. Why is this? Is the switch only a recent addition? And if it is, where can I buy one with the switch equipped? Thank you.

@REDMAX777 The switch is on my 2010 SR506, but must have been added recently. It is a two-way and the differences in each posititon are less noticeable than the three way on my BTB1306e.

Yep. My dad plays bass. He says he's bad but he's better than me at bass. He doesn't own a bass but he used to. He used to own a blue fender precision bass (I think).Every once in a while we'll go to guitar center and play guitar and bass. It's really fun.

I have that same ibanez....but Bartolini pickups are awesome they have more bite and punch but thats my opinion i hope it helps

Hey man, great playing! I've putting off learning bass for while, mostly because I wanted to buy an expensive 6-string bass, but didnt have the discipline to save for it..LOL And now every1 is increasing their prices so I'm basically screwd! But anyway, what do you think of that SR506? I really wanna play R&B and Jazz, neo soul kinda music... And I really like the solid, deep bass tone, but I'd like to be able to sound good during slapping and during solos... Do you think it's good 4 that?thanx

This is a great bass for all genre of music! Mine came with Elixir Strings and it gives off great highs and ground shaking lows~~~~ The action can be set really low for easier playing, great for harmonics and slap & pop! SR506 is a very nice bass I just put mines back on the stand for the night! I Love It!
