@xigbar4ever1 if the classes are like GU, then you should know that adept rogues can only choose a maximum of 4 class points. haseo has broadswod(1 point), twin blades(1 point), and flick reaper(2 points). What you want would be 6 points because bayonet is three points. Why do you think Matsu only has broadsword and bayonet? because its 4 points. if what i'm saying is confuing, just look up adept rogue on the dot hack wikia. it's on there.
The World is the most fond memory I have of tv shows and games when I was younger. :) I REALLY hope to see this finished. I don't know that I've ever wanted anything more! Good luck!! :)

@DeathKingGolthan Did anyone on that team help make the previous GU or PS1 games? I'm curious because I wasn't sure if you guys were professionals or amateurs trying to create a fan based game. Also I downloaded the game but it seems to be in the very early stages. There's a lot of bugs and no NPCs, Players, or anything in the game really. Regardless it's the thought and effort that count. I only hope you guys plan to keep going until it's finished.
@ElectroFreakshow We are just amatuers creating a fan game. The makers of the GU and .hack//IMOQ games (which are on the PS2) are CC2 (CyberConnect[s]2) all the way over in Japan. They make some Naruto games as well.
The game is indeed in very early stages and there are alot of bugs to be worked on. The only NPCs at the moment are in the shops, but that doesn't help in terms of other additional AI.
@DeathKingGolthan I also forgot to ask if there's any issues with the copyrights. I'm not exactly sure how that works but would you guys be able to use any character models, cities, etc... from the previous games?
@ElectroFreakshow In terms of copyright, we have used previous character models (made by one of our modelers) and the textures were ripped from the game (IMOQ series). However, we are filtering these our with our own models and high resolutions textures. We are most likely going to rename the towns and other things. Probably going to look for some music makers as well to make music for the game.
Are they really making an MMO version of Dot Hack? I thought they made one before but it was a massive failure? Anyways if this is legit I hope they're successful this time around. Dot Hack GU was the closest anyone came to being as epic as Final Fantasy. The story itself had me playing that game all night just so I could see what happened next.
ya one was made using the ps network the game was called .Hack//Fragment which was out for the ps2 , you were capable of playing online using the network adapter or offline mode. the game was ran in Japan but it wasn't too popular so they pulled the plug on it thus hack//fragment never reached the US market (rather quite disappointing)
@mastaj21 Even if it was a failure over in Japan I really think it could have had a better chance in the US. MMORPGs are huge over here and the GU games were incredibly successful in terms of sales. It's such a shame because there's just so much potential there to make an incredible game.

And I know what you mean the 7 games were very popular, my dad had found Infection in a yard sale I didn't think much of it but it got me hooked so much I searched everywhere for the remaining Mutation, Outbreak & Quarantine, eventually the GU series so yup I have em all.

This game will be free, so I don't know what you've been reading. They have a forum site where you can look up all of the progress, updates, etc etc. They are working hard on this game, so before you say it looks horrid, you go out and try to make this.
and the blurry high defintion that makes you feel like you just walked into a well lit room from being asleep all day with the water sparkling in the distance, and the shadows that come off the trees, not the solid tree shadows like in the other bs games, but the kind of shadown that is riddled with spots where the sun shines through the gapes in the leaves and grass that looks like a sliky green blanket. i am seriously considering supporting the development.
i would join a cult to see this game take over runescape. i want a reality that isnt real, one that lets dreams come true, even for play station or xbox public vicinity voice chat and actual powerful characters, walking through the streets feeling like you could blow the world apart and pk or pkk whenever you want, at the risk of being wanted and chased or you own net slum hosted on your internet for clan members message boards good anime style characters
@miguulify its one of those games where if your one of the people who know what it is you have a nerdgasm at the thought of it, however so few people know what it is that it wont take off quick enough to fend off the other MMO's from ruining it, so its a matter of fans having to spread the idea and get people to play through the PS2 games, and/or watch the show
