I "happened" upon your channel via Evelyn Prather's channel. Between the two of you, I feel much less like I'm stumbling around in the dark with my transition. Thank you!!
please keep the raw food videos coming. I am vegetarian (I totally understand what you are talking about about eating different than your upbringing...my family is from the south and they can't believe I don't eat fried chicken anymore). I love the ideas that you share.
You're inspiring me so very much, Ms. Lady! And btw, what a blessing to have neighbors with bee hives and apple trees..!!! I learned about the raw diet, and have been going back and forth for the last TWO YEARS. I detest my inconsistency. Anyway, I'm going to ride the momentum of your motivating videos. So glad I found them.
@Keekbeak It takes a while to be totally raw or 90% raw. After all, it is hard breaking a habit that we have had for like......20,30,40 or even 50 years! Do the best you can. I hope to do more videos about food but I do not do many recipes any more. Just plain fruits and veggies! Whenever I get a hankering for something, I will try to do a video. I have been craving lemon tarts but I have been to lazy to make them!
Ok cool I like this snack. I'll definitely try this. What about hummus? I always put hummus on bread and eat it as a snack. Would u know of a different way to eat hummus as a snack?
@urbanChic1Me an Julian like hummus for dinner. We use it as a dip for the veggie sticks. I just saw a recipe for zucchini hummus. I have not tried it though. I have also used hummus kind of as a "mayo" on sandwichs. I take two green leaves, a slice of tomato, a little bit of avocado and then spred the hummus on the other leaf and eat it like a big ol' subway!
I'm gonna have to watch your channel for the next couple of weeks, cause I just decided that if I don't do something with my eating healthier, no one else is going to do it! I made some partially raw breads and crackers (if I was counting percentage I'd say 90% raw, the other 10% unprocessed or barely processed). So if I can't go 100%, I'll go as healthy as I can. Keep your vids coming...I need the inspiration and tips!
@ltcartwright1976 That is a great idea! I cannot be 100% raw becuase my metabolism is freakishly high and I don't even have a thyroid disorder. In the winter, I have to have beans, brown rice and/noodles to keep me from getting hypoglycemic. I also drink almond milk (not raw), toasted seseme seeds (not raw)!
i love all your vids, they just always seem too short!!! But, what exactly does the almond butter taste like? almonds? I would love to try it. I can start my 3 yr old on a new way to eat his apple snacks.
@tkquel I do not think it tastes like almonds. I think it tastes like a dry peanut butter. To me, almond butter seems to be dry or maybe richer than peanut butter. I I have not ran across an almond butter yet that was an easy to spread like the peanut butter. Most almond butter have to be refridgerated and that makes it a bit tougher to spread too. That is another reason why I use a bit of honey or agave. It makes it spreadable!
@AfroMohawkable They make the raw french fries out of it. It is used in many mexican type dishes to replace the potato. I have never had it cooked btu I thini it tastes like a cross between an apple and a potato. I see them at wal-mart all the time by the papaya and coconuts.
I love that the little hands popped into the screen! SO cute!
