  • I hope they send him to a United States Prison as I feel that canada does not have a quality justice system. the punishments for criminals are insane. that it makes me feel that I could commit a crime, and not worry about being punished for too long. the conditions in a canadian prison are worse then the sentence. the united states it strict on it's criminals. and I feel that the United States is superior to canada in respect to criminal justice.

  • He should be released.

  • If the courts are to accept going the "I have a mental illness, I`m not responsible" excuse, they why do they send pedophiles to jail?? Isn`t pedophilia classified as a mental illness?

What if a guy rapes a 1 year old baby to death? Should we let him go free because of his "mental illness"??

Psychiatry doesn`t make any sense in a court of law, in fact, it doesn`t make any sense anywhere.

  • Some guy around here has recently been released 2 YEARS after decapitating both of his parents. Of course, he used the "I heard voices" card to get the dumb judge to release him.

And he was arrested 2 days after being released for setting a house on fire.

  • Wow that's nuts!

I don't get how some defense lawyers sleep at night.

  • His lawyers went as far as claiming his dead parents estate for him. Lawyers are nothing but vultures, they would gladly sell their own parents if they could profit from it.

The name of the guy is "Alain Piche" in Trois-Rivieres, QC .

  • Also he tried to escape te bus and police after the crime. That shows coherence.Had thi minority hadnt been in my ountr in the first place, sick or not this wouldnt have happened.Had he been white and the victim a minority the minority community would be screaming mad that it was racist that he was found not criminally responsible

  • Do your homework on schizophrenia, instead of imagining him on the bus with you head and you'll be convinced this bullshitter is insane when he did this.

Here is something else for you to imagine, you all with pitchforks when he get out of the hospital.

Or him living with this throughout his life when he fully realises what he did on that bus. Or the "family and friends" he still "have".

Don't be surprised if he tries to kill himself in that hospital.

    Happy enough for ya?

  • I know a bit about schizophrenia and I don't think that it's an excuse for murder. Schizophrenia is reoccurring, so if he gets out having been "rehabilitated" he could do this again. I've got nothing against him being in a mental ward or mental institution but I don't think he should be NCR and have the option of being let out!

  • Dude was insane. Youtube the laptop he sold to the kid (he coulda killed him for the money) but the kid said he was a nice guy before boarding the bus.

Google video the newpaper he used to work for, guy said he was a nice guy who commmunicated with him.

Read the newspaper clipping of him saying he whispered "kill me" when he entered the court room.

Read the newspapers articles of doctors saying how he was still talking to his voices after being heavily medicated on meds.

  • The only insanity in that courtroom was a group of liberal going delusional. The judge needs to be put in an mental institution and "vince" Li needs to be put in prison or a sparking chair.

  • Clearly you don't understand anything about the Canadian legal system. Do you even understand the difference between first and second degree homicide? "Murder 1" is a US term. Jesus - get some education.

  • yeah so I used an American term, big deal! Look at the Canadian media, it's USA dominated it's no wonder with almost 100% of all cop shows on TV being American that someone comes in with American terminology.

Is using American terminology that bad of a thing?

  • It only takes common sense to see that he was planning this murder, I draw your attention to the bowie knife he took on the bus, that's not an EDC blade! As for criminally responsible my only concern is that he gets out after being "rehabilitated" and kills again. I really don't care if you're insane you don't kill people, that's a given. You may notice from the video that it was a immediate reaction, not some deeply researched response.

    Idiot

  • @airykahca Is the content refutable? Is law not about about intent and content before presumptions?

  • He is a Canadian citizenby the way. Not that it makes much of a difference in your eyes. And here is some good news for you, chances of him being in a mental institution all his life is way up there.

  • wikipedia; Schizophrenia

  • Dude. Do you know anything about mental illness? Do you know anything about schizophrenia? Patients of this disease believes what their voices are telling them. This story was scary to hear and I wouldn't want to meet anyone going through a psychotic episode as major as this. But there are people out there that is sick and needs help. Understand the disease and maybe you'll know 1/100 of what they go through.

  • I know lots about mental illness, I had one. I am blessed though because God healed me of it.

  • Do you think the victim "Tim" would "forgive" him for his "little" problem (you arrogantly explain away) like "you" do? If I were Tim I would have kicked the son of a bitch in the teeth and plowed a knife into his brain. Would that have made "Tim" a "bad" person in your eyes for defending himself against Li? You seem so ready to dismiss the "real" victim here in favour of Li who is nothing short of a manipulative monster getting away with murder. You make me sick!

  • I'm sorry that you felt that we are the devil's advocate but you got to be impartial in these kinds of matters. The problem is beyond the murder. The problem is the effects of mental illness on society. We need to find out what causes these mental illness, whether it be a social problem or some other unknown factors. Simply deporting all immigrants is pure ignorance as there are mentally illness across all races. Anyhow, it's a sad tragedy for everybody really, even for Mr. Li himself. RIP.

  • I pray for Canada with idiots like you flooding the thought process that poisons appropriate and proper justice from being carried out. People like you are truly evil.

  • What? what makes me evil? I pray that you're talking about Vince Li!

  • More needs to be done to protect "law-abiding" Canadian citizens from monsters like Vince Li. He's totally responsible..why else did he take a big butcher knife on a bus? He knew exactly what he was doing and the immigration officer that let him move into Canada from China should be investigated and fired.

  • More needs to be done to understand overall mental illness and its effect on society.

  • shoulda been sent to lethal injection

  • I do hope that Mr. Li`s therapy will include plenty of electro-shocks, as well as the good old "ice-pick" lobotomy.

  • LOL! I hope it really hurts too!

  • You should have been the judge then we would have seen real justice.

  • I agree with the outrage over Vince Li. They should smother that son of a bitch to death. Let Tim's family do it..they deserve justice.

  • Princess...I'm far from a bleeding heart. this guy is obvious hopeless and sick....I feel really bad for him and the family...

NOW...what I would have like to see is the "mental health professionals" RESPONSIBLE hung. This guy was in an edmonton facility and LET GO from what I read. This is a distraction to let thesr A-holes off THE HOOK. THEY should be on the "frount page" and give their FULL sentence.

  • This is the newest fad in Canada, commit a horrible crime then pretend to be mentally ill to avoid prison time. All you need is a dumb ass psychiatrist with his pseudo-science to convince the judge.

The judge in this case is such a imbecile...he deserves to have his ass kicked real hard.

  • And i'm sure you have the credentials and education to discredit the Judge. Do you truly believe our court system is that frivolous, that any accused claiming to be mentally ill gets NCR with no discretion? Besides, You don't think he's mentally ill given that he had no motive to kill, the fashion in how he killed him, and the consumption of his remains? And I'm pretty sure a mental ward is a lot worse than Jails, especially jails in Canada. Bums actually commit crime so they could go to jail.

  • I've got the credentials to know that it doesn't take a genius to know that this guy isn't safe.

He committed a crime, mentally ill or not! technically with my diagnosis (having been healed or not) I could go out and commit a crime and claim "insanity" but I have the brains to know that you don't go out and kill someone!

It's something that comes naturally to all humans, you don't murder. Insane or not. Vince Li killed a man unprovoked, he should be jailed!

  • what? you just implied that people don't get mentally ill in Canada who is embarrassing them self in a sea of denial?

  • Comment removed

  • So you need a law degree to have an opinion?

You practice criminal law? Care to cite some credentials? I find it hard to believe a criminal lawyer has time to spend arguing over terminology on youtube.

  • pretty crazy stuff

  • I totally agree with you. That fucker should have been put away for life in prison if not executed. What did he expect to do with that knife on the bus? Cut his steak dinner? Oh yeah...they don't serve food on the bus!
