New Bond films in my opinion are just based much more on the action side of things, and I think that suits Craig's role. Brosnon and Connery were In my view the true Bonds, based around gadgets, not brute force.

There is a difference between a true Bond, and a bad Bond. If you like Brosnan, good for you, like him, but it is not a narrow-minded view. Guys the only "true Bond" so to speak would be Daniel Craig because he's the only one that has a personality strikingly similar to the book's version. New Bond films in my opinion are just based much more on the action side of things, and I think that suits Craig's role. Brosnon and Connery were In my view the true Bonds, based around gadgets, not brute force.

Because when your made up person comes from a series of novels (which your post makes me question your knowledge on the subject), then there's only one true Bond, and all those actors in those films, need to be like that Bond to be a true Bond, and Brosnan came nowhere near that. He didn't even try to be anywhere near that. He doesn't count as Bond.

The true James Bond is the one from the novels. Pierce Brosnan was as far from benig like the Bond from the novels as you can get. To be a true James Bond, you must be like the Bond from the novles. This is a quite narrow minded view, without creation and change everything would be stagnant and boring, Whilst Brosnan was nothing like Bond according to the books that doesnt make him a bad bond, only a different one.
Enjoy a film for itself under its own merits, too often people discount anything because it is not like something else which they expect it to be.

There is a difference between a true Bond, and a bad Bond. If you like Brosnan, good for you, like him, but it is not a narrow-minded view. Its almost as if, choosing whom ever you choose, based on personal preference, you're considering it your character, and your idea, rather than somebody else's. Point is, respect other people's creations. If you like Brosnan, enjoy, but considering him being a "true Bond," thus, Ian Fleming's Bond, is wrong....

Guys the only "true Bond" so to speak would be Daniel Craig because he's the only one that has a personality strikingly similar to the book's version. Quite frankly the book's version is a sociopath who treats women like objects and is a borderline alcoholic. Quite frankly the films did all right with changing it and no Bond is similar except Daniel Craig. Other than him they're all still sociopathic pimps but still great actors (sans Lazenby, he sucked).

Because I've read the novels by Ian Fleming - just incase you didn't know, James Bond came from novels - and who I determine as being good Bonds are those who act like the character in the novels that he wrote, since Fleming's idea of Bond is what the true Bond is. Pierce Brosnan was not at all like that....

Pierce Bronson is the best for me since I grew up with him as James Bond! And Quantom of Solocist the new bond movie Sucked it was bad the story was bad there is no ammount of Special Effects that can fix a bad story! It was like reading a coded message that you dont know how to un-code there was no advancement of the ploit other than what happened to the girl in Royale nicknamed Vespa. they cut almost everything out of the movie not worth my money. I want my $7 back!

Daniel Craig is the best Bond! I thought that the James Bond films before Daniel Craig were crap and I never liked Bond... they were cheesy, Bond never got a scratch, the gadgets were ridiculous and Bond knocked people out after a little tap. The two with Craig are cool action movies and are the reason that I like James Bond now... Why do people criticize the new movies so much?
